Our family of 8 could spread out inside or outdoors for time alone & gather in the well equipped kitchen, dining room, or family room with ease. Everything was very clean & in a great location! We drove 15 to 30 minutes for most of our sightseeing. Our first & last days we spent mainly on the beach, enjoying the tides, creatures, & plants dependent on the tides. Our week was full: Bar Harbor, Thunder Hole, Cadillac Mountain twice, Schoodic Point, Jordan Pond, a boat tour to Little Cranberry Island, the oceanarium, hiking trails, & several seafood meals including lobster. We were thrilled to come "home" to such comfort at each day's end. Thank you again for a wonderful vacation stay!

We held a friend reunion here with 8 adults and 8 children. Between the guest house and the main house, there was plenty of room. I would not factor in the bunkhouse for occupancy as it was not a place we would have used, but there are PLENTY of pull out couches throughout the houses. The yard/beach access with children, hands down was perfect and needed. We were able to swim, kayak, and the land itself suitable for obstacle courses, soccer games, and a plethora of outdoor activities. It was about 25 minutes to bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor; a little longer to some of the hikes and bass harbor, bot doable. I HIGHLY recommend this place for large groups. The bonus, no trying to park at Sand Beach in Acadia because they have their own swimable beach. Worth every penny. Additionally, the owners were friendly, amenable, and responded quickly to emails.

What a great place!

Hi Mary, We had an awesome week at the house. The weather was very hot (80's-90's) but the windows and fans made a great difference and maximized the cooling breezes from 3 the sides. We were very comfortable and did not want for anything. The location was perfect for spectacular views, lobster pounds and getting about easily. Morton's Moo and Blueberry Hill in Ellsworth and MDI Ice cream in BH are must sees (we love our ice cream). We swam at Echo Lake. We were going to go to the Acadia Reparatory Theater one eve but we ran out of time. It was easy for our family of 6 adults to spread out and have our space. I loved that we felt like we were in our own quiet little world away from everything but minutes away from anything we needed. The paintings are beautiful but my personal favorite was the one of Otter Cliffs. We became avid tide watchers too. It was nice having both the living room and the sun room with 2 tv's for gathering and options. The basement was a nice cool retreat sometimes too. We played board games several evenings. We never had an issue with running out of hot water or low water pressure. It was better than home actually. The pictures don't do justice to the property. Thank you for everything. You were super easy to work with. We made some great memories this week! The Steeles, Rochester NY
