Peaceful doorway into Acadia trails and coves

5 of 5
This property provides a wonderful jumping off point to thoroughly explore the quiet side of Mt. Desert - with access to Bernard Mountain and Long Pond trails, Southwest and Bass Harbors, and numerous sea kayaking opportunities. Waking up you can have coffee along the well-landscaped shoreline (the swing overlooking the cove is especially nice), explore the rocky beach, and then jump into other Mt. Desert activities. The dock provides another vantage point from which to see the beach, the cove, and the house. You can feel "off the beaten path" but yet be within striking distance of the more densely populated parts of the island (e.g., Northeast Harbor, Bar Harbor, and the Park Loop trails). We even did s'mores in the fire pit as the sun set. We were a party of six - four adults, two children, and the two-levels of the house allowed for privacy when needed and a great gathering space for puzzles, reading, and debriefing the day's activities. The kitchen was very clean and very well-stocked. I would highly recommend this beautiful carriage house.

Beautiful rental with a beautiful view

5 of 5
The house was ready when we arrived, spotlessly clean and welcoming. We had 3 generations of our family here for this vacation, and everyone had their perfect space. The girlies (10 and 7) made the basement their own. They LOVED the ping pong table and it was nice that they could watch a movie in the basement while the "grownups" had the living room to read or watch the tide move in and out. We did donate to the kitchen a griddle for pancakes as the large skillet is a bit warped and wouldn't sit flat on the burner. Our 10 yr. old grandaughter asked us if the house ever went up for sale if we would buy it :) We would return here no questions asked. Thanks for sharing this wonderful property.
