                    Wonderful Vacation Experience with Family

                    5 of 5
I can't say enough good things about our stay at this house. Since this was our first time renting a house while on vacation, we weren't sure what to expect. Once we arrived at the house we found it to be a gorgeous, clean, well maintained home in a beautiful location. Inside, I can't think of anything that was missing... they've included it all! My kids (ages 8 and 10) loved being able to walk down to the beach and explore. There are a lot of runners in my family, and those of us who run enjoyed making the trip up or down Newberry Neck Rd and along nearby trails. Although it's a little bit of a drive, we made a few car trips toward Bar Harbor to explore the town and do a little hiking at Acadia. Overall, it was a fantastic first time experience and we won't hesitate to repeat it at this location.

The most idyllic of vacation spots!

                    5 of 5
There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how fabulous our many stays have been at Loon Sound Cottage! There isn’t a more beautiful, peaceful spot on the Pond, from the cozy, inviting interior that exudes Maine cottage charm to its location only steps away from our own private beach on the water’s edge. Beautifully appointed and immaculately maintained, the cottage is everything we expected it to be--and more. One could easily while away many hours at the cottage, swimming or paddling on the pond (kayaks and canoes were provided for our enjoyment) or sitting by a cozy fire pit on the shore, sipping a glass of wine while watching one of many spectacular sunsets. We enjoyed exploring nearby Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park, forays throughout Penobscot peninsula and Deer Isle, and hikes up Blue Hill Mountain. And one couldn’t ask for more friendly, congenial hosts, always welcoming and helpful when we had questions about area amenities. If we still lived in California (we fell in love with Maine so much while staying at this lovely spot that we moved to Brooklin a year ago!) we’d would always include Loon Sound Cottage on Toddy Pond in our vacation itinerary!

Wonderful, well cared for cottage on beautiful Toddy Pond

My boyfriend our dogs and I rented this perfect spot for a long weekend. The land, lake and cottage were more beautiful than pictured, and very well thought out and organized, providing more than enough space for a larger group. So much so that my sister and nephews who came down for the day decided to stay the night in the comfortable upstairs loft. Nichole was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful and accommodating. We and our dogs spent a very happy four nights and five days at Overlook, enjoying kayaking, canoeing, the private beach, walking and cooking great meals in the spacious, well appointed kitchen.
