Pure Bliss!!

5 of 5
My husband and I found this spacious, well-appointed home to be as beautiful as its scenic location! Being from out of state, we were searching for a place to become our “home” while we hosted an overnight stay for the bridal attendants traveling to our daughter’s wedding. From the moment we pulled in the driveway and unlatched the door, we were smitten by its charm. The home is ultra clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and offers an abundance of seating. The view from the house is spectacular! Due to inclement weather, the photographer took pre-wedding pictures inside the home, and they were just lovely. The owners of the home were wonderful to work with; the information they provided was professional and thorough. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!

CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN NEXT YEAR!!

5 of 5
My husband and I, along with our two Golden Retrievers, just returned from an absolutely glorious week at this property and surrounding area and can say hands down it was one of the nicest vacations we’ve ever had. This was due in no small part to owner Michael’s efforts to assure just that! Prior to booking, we had read the previous 19 reviews with a bit of skepticism (they were ALL so glowing!), yet had great hope that our experience would be the same. After many years of renting luxury homes across the country, we have often found that the early reviews reflected a house and experience different from what was experienced after the owner had rented a home for many years and had seemingly grown weary of maintaining the home. This was not at all the case with this incredible home in Surry. Michael has lovingly and skillfully maintained this home through the years with quality furnishings and updates. Not to mention the pristine cleanliness throughout. As others have mentioned, this beautiful home is sitting in a park like setting that is immaculately groomed by the groundskeepers. This is the perfect home for both sunny and rainy days while on vacation due to the vast amenities. We spent 3 days on Mt Desert Island exploring Acadia, shopping at galleries in Northeast Harbor and walking the park carriage roads. Acadia is as dog-friendly of an area as it gets as they allow dogs off-leash if they are voice-controllable. This afforded us hours of walking with our dogs off-leash in the most picturesque of settings. Between these long walks and the easy and fantastic beach swimming at the house, courtesy of MIchael’s equally dog-friendly policy, we had two very happy dogs! We chose to grill at home each night and found wide and good availability of local and organic produce and meats throughout the area. As others have mentioned, the upscale kitchen is fully stocked with anything one needs, and the abundance of seating in and on the deck of the house make it as good as dining at a 5-star restaurant. In just one meal alone, we had a bald eagle fly directly overhead and watched two pairs of loons out in the water, along with a wide variety of other inland and shore birds! Next year we plan on spending even more time at the house just relaxing and enjoying all it has to offer. And we are counting the days already!

True to the description,only better!

5 of 5
We just returned from our week at "Out to Camp". The house is beautifully maintained and true to the description on vrbo. We were a group of 7 adults and 2 children. We had plenty of private space for all. My husband and I slept in the "daylight basement" with our twin 6 year old boys. There was plenty of space for us and all our stuff. The adjacent game room and walk out was perfect for the boys. The master bedroom and loft was used by my in-laws and sister in-law. There was plenty of space upstairs. All the rooms were spacious. The loft had a futon for sleeping, but proved to be too uncomfortable for sister in-law. The main floor bedroom, entry Hall, kitchen and dining was spacious and well equipped. The first floor bathroom was large enough for us to share. The outside deck had brand new flooring and railings. With a nice breeze we were able to sit outside each evening and watch the boys swimming in the pond. We grilled most nights and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. This was our first trip to Acadia. We were 30 minutes or so to the park at "Out to Camp". The road to and from was an easy drive past restaurants, shopping, etc. this made the location just fine, as we needed to get these services coming and going each day we ventured out. This home is fantastic for a relaxing retreat in a beautiful, private setting.
