Pure Bliss!!

5 of 5
My husband and I found this spacious, well-appointed home to be as beautiful as its scenic location! Being from out of state, we were searching for a place to become our “home” while we hosted an overnight stay for the bridal attendants traveling to our daughter’s wedding. From the moment we pulled in the driveway and unlatched the door, we were smitten by its charm. The home is ultra clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and offers an abundance of seating. The view from the house is spectacular! Due to inclement weather, the photographer took pre-wedding pictures inside the home, and they were just lovely. The owners of the home were wonderful to work with; the information they provided was professional and thorough. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!

Happy Campers

5 of 5
Fabulous location, very tranquil and not too far from Acadia National Park which was our destination for the week. It is less than an hour drive from the parks many entrances. We are active seniors (two couples) so the canoe available at the property was an added bonus. Toddy Pond is lovely. The biking in Acadia National Park was another highlight of our trip; so much to see and do and not enough time. For older couples, a queen bed instead of the day bed in the guest bedroom would have been the better choice. Climbing in and out of the upper berth of the day bed was not ideal. Our suggestion would be to relocate the day bed to the front office/den (for children) and upgrading to a queen size bed in the guest bedroom. This would definitely be a plus at this rental property for couples traveling together. Having said that, the owners, Paul & Annie were delightful and pointed us in the right direction upon our arrival. Their home is clean and well maintained with beautiful grounds. We loved the small communities surrounding Surry and enjoyed the fresh seafood dining, wild Maine blueberries, all of the delightful art and pottery galleries and the incredible beauty this area offered. Our time flew by, we loved every minute of our vacation and we felt grateful for the opportunity to have stayed at this property for the week. It restores the soul. W. & J. Cottonwood Heights, UT

Bayport Cottage is paradise!

5 of 5
My family and I desired something different than a beach vacation this year. I started looking at properties on HomeAway and happened upon Bayport Cottage. It seemed too good to be true. (After researching Maine and Acadia National Park, I decided to go out on a limb and book it.) Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a goodie basket which included champagne! Nice touch! The house is so beautiful and perfect in every way! The photos on the site don't even do it justice. Our children, ages 18, 16 and 16 fell in love, too. In fact, my oldest son is dying for me to book it again soon so he can bring his friends. We spent our mornings exploring our own, very private pebble shore. Again, paradise! The hiking trails in Acadia and the beautiful beach there rival any place in the world! Our worry was that there would not be enough to occupy teenagers, but this isn't the case! We enjoyed a lighthouse tour by boat, shopping and dining at Bar Harbor, exploring little towns like Blue Hill and Ellsworth and simply relaxing at the cottage. It turned out to be one of the best vacations we have had together, and we have traveled a lot. The owners were so kind and nice to work with, and they have thought of everything to make this home the perfect vacation getaway. The cottage is conveniently located for exploring Maine, but is also so private and secluded that we were even treated to deer in the back yard at night. We certainly will return to Bayport Cottage! This little slice of Heaven in Surry, Maine won our hearts! The Clears, Virginia
