A gloriously beautiful spot with great activities

5 of 5
Accommodations were simple, clean and comfortable. Owners were helpful and had many suggestions for activities. With Schoodic peninsula nearby, many quaint Downeast fishing towns a short drive away, and central to 2 parts of Acadia, Bar Harbor, well as miles of pristine shoreline, it's just an ideal place to visit and a relaxing place to stay. I have recommended it to family and friends and have been returning each summer for many years, always stating with the Shanahans.

Can I Keep This Property a Secret??!! ;-)

A gorgeous place, immaculate and beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches throughout... And, the grounds are lovely as well. I booked a week at this chalet for a Maine vacation with my Mom, who had not been back to this area in more than 20 years. This was a fabulous find! Very quiet and private, and a great place for both of us to decompress after a year of family chaos. Yet, close enough to all the area attractions that we were never bored. We covered a lot of ground during our week's stay -- including Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Schoodic Peninsula, the Roosevelt Campobello International Park in New Brunswick (bring your passport!!), Asticou Terraces and Thula Gardens, the Penobscot Marine Museum, and many other random stops for (a) breathtakingly beautiful scenery, or (b) fun local gift shops! We also ate lots of yummy seafood, including lobster, clams, and mussels. Heaven! And the views from the deck every morning and evening were spectacular. Only sorry that I did not book this for 2 (!!) weeks.
