Peace and quiet, fresh air, the beauty of nature!

5 of 5
Aahhhh! We enjoyed peace and quiet, fresh air, and the beauty of nature. The fall foliage colors were evident from all windows, and especially from the large, wrap around deck where I sipped my morning coffee as the mist rose off the river. The beautiful home was exceedingly well-maintained and clean, with all the amenities we needed, and spacious enough for our large family (5 kids). There were plenty of places to walk and explore, from the house and within easy driving distance. We climbed Mt. Megunticook, and visited nearby beaches. We loved our stay, and would highly recommend this comfortable home to other families.

Every Leaf was a Flower

5 of 5
Our first trip to Maine and as a bonus, Autumn. Due to airline issues we arrived the first night well after dark so it was not possible to view the harbor or the area. As the sun came up our first morning we were blessed with an artist’s palette. The tide filled the harbor; the colors of the trees brightened the landscape; the beauty that was to be ours for a week role out before our eyes. Stockton Springs was a great location for our adventures, since we wished to explore both North and South. Acadia to Owl’s Head was our wonderland. Oceans, harbors, colors, lighthouses, sailboats, bridges, forts, food, towns, shopping, trains; so much to do so little time! The cottage was everything we expected; well equipped, private, comfortable, warm and inviting. Our only regret is that we spent so much time enjoying the area the time at the cottage was limited to sleeping and breakfast. The memories of the cottage, the area and the fun of an extended family coming together in a warn environment will last a lifetime.

Delightful in every way

5 of 5
First of all, the location of the cottage was perfect for local antiquing and sightseeing, and near connector roads for day trips to Bangor and Waterville. And the stars! It's far enough off the beaten path that there is minimal light pollution, and you can see the entire Milky Way at night. The owner thought of all the little details most property owners forget, was easy and pleasant to communicate with, and was prompt in refunding the security deposit. If I had to object to anything, it would be coming down the steps from the 2nd floor bedroom. If it were my cottage, I'd carpet the steps. But hey -- Mainers are used to coming down steep spiral staircases in lighthouses (sorry for the stereotype!), and as picky as I am about vacation properties I rent, if this is my only objection, then this delightful cottage gets a well-deserved 5 stars! Next time I'm in Maine, I will unquestionably want to stay here again.
