Wonderful Location!

5 of 5
You won't want to miss the opportunity to stay here! The photos of this listing are truly representative of the property. The view is fabulous. The property is clean and well maintained. Jackie is wonderful to work with. She has absolutely thought of everything that you might need. If you want a relaxing, peaceful vacation, this is the place for you. Plenty of nearby harbors to visit. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Visit nearby Schoonic Point for awesome views of Cadillac Mountain. The 5 & 10 in Winter Harbor and the local Artisans in Winter Harbor, Prospect Harbor and Birch Harbor were great fun to explore. Be sure to visit US Bells. Purchase lobster from the dock in Corea. Local fare with a smile at the "Two Sisters Café & Deli" and the "Pickled Wrinkle". Would definitely stay here again - what a find!!

Great spot. Super easy

The cottage was clean, quiet, and in a great location. Looks like the owners put a lot of time and thought into making it their own beautiful place to stay but let others enjoy as well. Would definitely recommend. Milbridge is close by to get whatever is necessary and then pack a lunch and visit one of the beautiful beaches, wildlife refuge, etc.

Crashing waves, rustic charm, cozy home

5 of 5
I intentionally made an effort to find a "real" Maine Cottage in Corea. There were many places featured that had all the modern conveniences and looked beautiful. But i wanted personal, cozy, wood cottage, a place with history. Each morning we had the windows opened and woke to the sound of the Corea Lobster Fleet heading out at 4:30 to 5:00 for a day at sea. We watched the fog roll in and out, the sun rise , the water sparkle and the tides go in and out. The cottage had everything we needed. The last guest even left behind exotic organic coffee, hot chocolate and other things. There was even fire wood! And yes we had a fire in July! A welcome treat coming for South Alabama! On rainy days we painted smooth rocks. We left several behind. We added a wind breaker and some sweaters to a big trunk with coats in it. The owners called from Montana to check on us, they were super nice. The gal that manages the cottage couldn't be better. I had to call her with a couple questions. Mainely Montana is a cozy, personal cottage that looks tiny form the outside but once inside, it magically produces room after room! Antiques, books, games.....a family place. The kitchen is large, everything you need to cook lobsters from the local CoOp. There are seating places everywhere. I would advise some insect repellant. The mosquitoes seem to come out in abundance right at dusk. But soon after they go away. No biggie! The walk to the village is lovely. You rarely need a car unless going on a excursion away. Location is perfect. If you seek squeaky clean perfection in accommodations this may not be for you. This home has history on a a bold somewhat unforgiving coast. It has settled here and there. But if you want a true feeling of old Maine Coast, this is it!
