Great Relaxing Getaway!

5 of 5
We had such a fun time here. All of the windows and rocking chairs were great to take in the views. We also had fun cooking our own lobster feast with lobster bought just down the road, and they had everything we needed for that. The cottage was on a nice quiet street, and it was nice to get away from the all the crowds at Bar Harbor and Acadia. There was an eagle that liked to roost in the tall evergreen in the backyard, so it was fun to listen to and watch him. The cottage was nice a clean and had everything we needed. We loved playing on the shore in front of the cottage. We also loved the Hollingsworth trail to the shore in the Petit Manan Refuge just up the road. It was so beautiful and short enough for our young children to walk. It was also fun to pick blue berries at the refuge. We had a great time!

Great spot. Super easy

The cottage was clean, quiet, and in a great location. Looks like the owners put a lot of time and thought into making it their own beautiful place to stay but let others enjoy as well. Would definitely recommend. Milbridge is close by to get whatever is necessary and then pack a lunch and visit one of the beautiful beaches, wildlife refuge, etc.

Amazing!

5 of 5
My husband and I decided to come to Maine for our honeymoon. We were interested in the Acadia/ Bar Harbor area- but wanted to stay away from the crowds. This location and house is perfect! We were not fully prepared- we are used to a TV, and seeing people frequently. It took a bit of adjusting...but once we adjusted it was perfect! The actual house is clean and very comfortable. It is fully stocked- but they ask to replace something if you use the last of it. This really makes you feel right at home. The view is breathtaking and relaxing! We took a trip to Bar Harbor- which was great. There were a lot of people everywhere. Cadillac Mountain is a MUST! We were in the clouds- and saw some great views! From the house- we kayaked around Sally Island and spent hours staring at an eagles nest (with babies in it) - and waiting for the mommy or daddy eagle to come back to it. It was completely amazing. We saw a few eagles- from the house too! It was nice to be able to just kayak from the house. The tides were something we weren't used to (being from Kentucky)- but there was plenty of information on when low and high tide is. On the 2nd or 3rd day- we went to Milbridge. We enjoyed the restaurant 44 North. People were friendly, food was good, and beer was cold! They also have a nice grocery store there- and a post office and town office where you can buy a fishing license. One day we went to Christophers- a restaurant about 20 minutes away. We were the only ones there because it was the first Tuesday that they were open. The waitress was great- and gave us lots of tips. The food was great as well! We also took a trip from Milbridge to see puffins and seals. It was called "Downeast Tours." Our captain was friendly and great. We saw 2 lighthouses, puffins, seals, and eagle, and he pulled up a lobster trap for us! We had a great time here! We spent a lot of time at the house relaxing, cooking, and listening to the local radio. I can't say a bad thing about this place! I would definitely recommend it!
