My husband and I had a fantastic time on the Maine coast, we love this area for its quiet, calm, peaceful setting. Close enough to Boothbay but away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. We had a great little outing with the dingy, loved the ocean and Lighthouse. We are "ocean people" from way back, so this was the perfect place for us. We really appreciated Anne and Conrad working with us as our vacation schedule was a bit different due to Charlie working in the medical field. They were the best hosts ever and we appreciated the fact that no one was in the other "half".
There are neighbors close by and they keep to themselves and wave. The library was great and right up our alley as well as the lovely walks to the Inn and pier. Don't miss the quaint little store on the way to the town beach, great people and snacks!
Sorry it took this long to write, have wanted to sooner. Only negative was the heat, but that was really only one day, unseasonably warm and even Portland set a new record!
Take time to see the Botanical Garden, Farmer's Market and drive up to the other side of Boothbay where there is a lovely beach and picnic, walking area.
Everything at the cottage was as described, primative and lovely and supplied. We mostly stayed in at night and cooked fresh seafood.
Thank you Anne and Conrad for being such wonderful hosts and sharing your home-we will be back!
