This cottage is a soothing balm that cures the ills of a busy urban life. We spent a week with our two sons and left refreshed, renewed and ready for anything.
We saw: a bald eagle, deer, big and small turtles, squirrels, chipmunks, wild turkey and, over at the nearby coast--seals. We picked blueberries both near the dock and at a nearby farm, ate so much lobster we could not take any more, jet skied in Wells on a calm, flat ocean and marveled in the dark nights at the actual Milky Way.
There were s'mores around the firepit (plenty of wood), great kayaking, plenty of hot water in showers and no sirens, helicopters or other urban "music". We fished (no catches but relaxing anyway), we played basketball on the half court, we hiked through quiet forests, kayaked morning day and evening and we reveled in doing almost nothing. The hammock, by the way, is perfect for reading and did we mention doing nothing?
The cottage is well equipped, cute and comfortable and the owners are really, really nice and helpful. Cell service was fine and neighbors were nice. Nothing but good to say about this place and these owners. A tonic.
