                                      Propre, calme et sans surprise

                                      4 of 5
A million miles away

                                      5 of 5
If there were a picture in the dictionary under perfect, it would be " A Shady Get Away" From the moment you make the turn off of the main road on to Shady Lane. (think of the Bat Cave) You slowly wind your way down to the cabin, ( first timers will say, where does it end? As you arrive at the cabin, you will find plenty of space to park and spread out your bags and coolers. I would advise to walk around to the back of the cabin first. It is why you are here! You will need to make a point during your stay, that a least once ( or EVERYDAY ) You wake up at 4:30am to watch the sunrise ( which will be to your right ) Once you do make it inside, You are struck at how big it is inside. All the rooms have great space, you don't get the feeling like you are squeezed into a closet. I would advise, whoever is the groups head.... call dibs on the front porch! You will sleep like a baby! We had an unbelievable week of weather, most days were in the 80's. which wasn't a big deal with swimming as the water temps were in the Hi 60's. We all had a great time enjoying the Canoe and Kayak. The Loons are constantly cruising, we also had a Great Blue Heron on the dock to the left and 2 Bald Eagle fly over. Once the sun goes down it is a whole new world. With very little light pollution, you just grab a chair and sit outback and sky watch. You will see it all... satellites, constellations, meteors and if you are lucky, the International Space Station. During Blueberry season, make a point to find one of the local blueberry farms (Libby's is very good) and go pick your own blueberries. ( we ended up with blueberries the size of marbles ) There is also Apple Acres Farm in Hiram, for some great ice cream!!! about a 15 minute ride. For great meats, try Country Side Butcher in Cornish. ( 2" thick rib-eyes! ) We found everything to be just as described ( actually, its even better in person ) The owners were very prompt and helpful with any questions or concerns. We brought our dogs, Max and Tucker. They loved it as well. If you have dogs and use the PetSafe wireless containment system at home, bring it! The dogs will pick up on the boundaries within seconds and then you don't have to worry about them roaming. Do your homework, there are countless places to go and things to do. Shopping, Hiking, Amusements..Whatever you want. If you are seeking peace and tranquility, guess what? You found it! Just don't tell anyone where the entrance to the Bat Cave is! : )

Adorable cozy cabin in the PERFECT York location

                                      5 of 5
My boyfriend and I stayed in the cabin the first weekend in May 2013 and it was just perfect for a weekend getaway. The cabin had all the utensils and amenities we needed for anything during the weekend. We made meals inside & also grilled out in the cute back area. The cabin is pretty close to the main house but the main house was empty that weekend so we had complete privacy. The location is PERFECT to take in York's attractions. It's a short walk to the York harbor area with hotels, little shops, etc (we were there before the season really got underway so some businesses were closed but most were open and everyone was incredibly helpful). It's so walking distance (a bit longer) to Nubble Light, which was beautiful! Being able to walk to and around the small shopping area & Nubble Light and then so quickly get back to this private little cabin really made for an amazing little romantic weekend away! I highly recommend the listing! The owners were very helpful with a special request we had as well and providing lots of information.
