A beautiful cottage with wonderful ocean view

5 of 5
The house is very clean and lovingly decorated. The location is great, being close to several towns, Thomaston, Camden, Rockland, etc. We loved the ocean view and the rocky beach access right from the lawn. It feels very private with only the nature around you. I loves how bright the kitchen was and that it had a gas stove! I loved the reclaimed wood doors with several layers of paints shown through. It is just beautifully decorated inside and outside with a beautiful garden. I already recommended the cottage to others and will likely to rent it again in the future. Here are potential negatives for some people that should help decide whether this lovely cottage is for you: - cell phone reception for AT&T wasn't great where my text to a friend down the street took many hours (but the cottage has a land line phone) - wifi worked well early in the morning but was very slow during the day - there is just basic cable so don't expect to watch Red Sox on NESN - very nicely maintained and clean, but don't expect modern bath - obviously no AC being on the coast of Maine and it can get humid at times - bring bug sprays for mosquitoes I loved staying at the cottage and it reminded me of those cottages on the coast of Ireland.

Wonderful South Thomaston home.

5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at this South Thomaston home. It was a VERYcomfortable, clean, roomy home. The children loved the bunkbed room and the adults all had first rate (not hand-me-down) mattresses. The house is a little off the beaten path but still centrally located. The yard is beautiful with lots of room to play and nice views. We did not kayak while there (too much other stuff to do) but the kayaks were available. Dick was great about calling after we arrived and he left clear instructions on how to reach him if there were any issues- which there were not. I would definitely recommend this house for families of all ages. Thank you Dick for your hospitality.

Wonderful Home in a Great Location

5 of 5
I have spent summer vacations on the coast of Maine since I was a child and somehow manage to find something new and exciting to enjoy there each year. This rental home was this year’s highlight. It is close enough to town (Rockland) to make it convenient to get to restaurants, grocery stores, shops, galleries and the Farnsworth and yet far enough away to give the peaceful privacy so needed on vacation. The home is stunning with its beautiful clean lines and furnishings. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all spaced far apart which is great for quietness when sleeping (and napping)! The owner Kay is extremely helpful with everything related to the house and the activities in and around the area. She suggested some new things for my group and her expertise would greatly benefit anyone new to the area. We enjoyed many sunsets on the deck and the breezes kept the mosquitoes mostly under control. Bug spray and a citronella candle didn’t hurt either. New for us this year were: Sightseeing flight to Acadia (1 hr, 5 people), Hope Elephants and the Hope General Store, Slipway Dock, Miranda Cafe. Some old favorites: Marshall Point, Owls Head and Breakwater Lights, Mohegan Island, Puffin/Nature Cruise out of Port Clyde, Pemaquid Point, Boothbay, Camden, Lincolnville, Rockland (Farnsworth). I would recommend this home and location to anyone. I’m already planning my trip for 2015!
