Great location, Cute Cottage

5 of 5
The property was just as expected. It was very homey, with plenty of amenities. It has everything you need to spend your vacation comfortably. I love how dog friendly the house is. They even have dog bowls in case you forgot yours. The cottage is a two minute walk to the beach entrance and a ten minute drive to downtown Portland. South Portland is a super cute town and everyone we met were so friendly. The only downside was that you have to clean before you leave. I rather pay a cleaning fee than have to do it myself (I'm on vacation), but it is still more than worth the hassle.

Highly recommended

This home is excellent. It is meticulously updated and maintained. It's small, but 10 times better than a hotel room. Even though it is in an urban/suburban neighborhood, there is no road noise at all - just the occasional fog horn. Four good restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk away. It's really just a cool place where people live with lots of things to do and see. The whole area around South Portland did not feel touristy to us at all. Finally, even though we were pleasantly surprised by everything else, the main reason we picked this house is because it was one of the only houses on the Maine coastline that will allow a stay of less than 1 week. Coming from California, where it's rare for more than 2 or 3 nights to be required, I couldn't believe people put up with almost every owner requiring a full week stay or more. Thank you Patti and Britt!
