Beautiful location, perfect vacation spot!

5 of 5
I was lucky enough to spend a week at Clifford House this past August and enjoyed every second! The house itself is beautiful, well kept, and has plenty of space for any activity we desired, whether it was cocktails on the porch, cooking dinner in one or both kitchens, or just relaxing with coffee in the sunny breakfast nook. We were lucky enough to have spectacular weather throughout our stay and spent plenty of time enjoying the view out on the dock. South Bristol itself was lovely to bike or run around (although watch out, there are plenty of hills to keep you guessing!), and is the perfect amount of relaxed/off the tourist path without feeling like being in the middle of nowhere. There was also plenty to do in the surrounding area - the Boothbay Botanical Gardens were a beautiful attraction, and Pemequid Point may be my new favorite place on earth with it's spectacular rock formations and crashing waves! We also enjoyed checking out local breweries in Boothbay and on Monhegan Island and eating our way through plenty of seafood. I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a getaway - this house is truly a gem - would love to return for another stay in the future!

PERFECT MAINE GETAWAY

5 of 5
My husband and I have visited "cozy cottage" for our Maine week getaway for many years now. It is just lovely, with lots of homey features that make it feel like home rather than a rental. We started our stay with watching the finals of the US Open tennis tournament on cable TV, but then relaxed The property is large and private and well maintained with freshly mowed grass and scattered gardens and a path to the lake/pond with a canoe if you choose to paddle. We explored the lake in it and observed wildlife. (Beaver, osprey, bald eagle) The area provides solitude yet is only about 15 minutes from town (Damariscotta) which has great restaurants (Chrissy's, River Grill, Rising tide Health market). Christa is a gracious host. We look forward to our return to this cozy cottage.
