                    A Delight in Nature

                    5 of 5
The charm of this pine cottage tucked between forest and river will delight nature lovers. With ospreys, gulls and terns in constant view above the multitude of lobster pots, the lure of the Maine coast is at its fullest. The old-fashioned house is filled with shells, decoys, children's books and artifacts that speak of decades of love for the water and place. Truly unforgettable.

                    Magical Summer Memories

                    5 of 5
We just finished our second two week stay at the Schiller's cottage. Last year, we rented it sight unseen after speaking with Linda Schiller on the phone. It sounded perfect for our family and it was! We made sure we booked it again for 2012 as we knew this would soon become a popular rental. Our second summer on the cove was just as wonderful as the first and we are already looking forward to next year. The location is perfect. Gorgeous views of the cove abound from the porch, living and dining rooms, and 3 of the bedrooms. You can sit on the porch and watch the osprey dive for fish and if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of the bald eagle soaring by. The beach is great for swimming. You can jump and dive from the rocks or swim dock at high tide and just wade in and swim from boat to boat at low tide. The cove is also perfect for canoes or kayaks. Fishing for mackerel, exploring the coastline or Witch Island about a half mile from the cove are all fun things to do. The cottage is a perfect place for our family. Our kids have absolutely loved staying here the past two summers and have met new friends each year. With four bedrooms, there is plenty of room to have other family members stay for a few nights. The kitchen is well equipped, enough so that we only ate out twice in two weeks. The beauty of this location is that you can stay for days on end without getting in your car, or you can venture out and explore the local area that has so much to offer. Lee and Linda are wonderful hosts. We feel so fortunate to have found this special place. The Halligan Family

                    A great Maine get-a-way!

                    5 of 5
I can't say enough about our week at the Honeymoon Cottage! The interior of the cottage is dead basic, but was clean and did the trick for us. We spent our days sunning ourselves on the deck, using the rowboat, getting lobster and local oysters at the shack right outside the door, communing with the seals, walking the dog at the land conservancy down the road and visiting Damariscotta (don't miss the Walpole Barn!) to eat and shop; generally forgetting about the world. As much as we would like to keep the cottage all to ourselves, don't hesitate to book it for a real Maine experience!
