JUST WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR!

                        5 of 5
The house and property was exactly as described. There was plenty room for all of us, my husband and myself, our four adult kids and their spouses, girlfriends, as well as our granddaughter and a close family friend. We fished, and hiked, and biked, and walked, and toured Pemaquid lighthouse. We cooked and ate, and sat by the fire, both outside and in. We slept in cozy beds at night, and shared a huge lobster feast together around the huge dining table. We can't wait to go back and do it again! What a beautiful spot!!

                        WONDERFUL MAINE HOLIDAY

                        5 of 5
My husband retired in September and we had long wanted to visit New England in the Fall. Our daughter organised a two week holiday for us, the second week being in this cosy, well equipped and beautifully situated cottage, We arrived after a long drive in the rain and dark and it felt like heaven - the door unlocked, the lights on and a welcoming message and everything ready for our arrival. Christa came to visit and welcome us the next day. We had a wonderful week exploring the peninsula, walking in the woods and by the sea, picking apples, and, of course, eating lobster! Our daughter with her husband and baby joined us for the last two nights and the cottage comfortably accommodated all of us. We would happily stay there again if we get the chance. Gini and Martyn Crompton.

                        PERFECT MAINE VACATION

                        5 of 5
My husband and I spent a week at this cottage and loved it! We were looking for a quiet place near the ocean that would give us a true flavor of the Maine seacoast. This area has not been ruined by the tourist trade as have places like Boothbay Harbor. The small towns of Damariscotta and South Bristol are delightful and relatively untouched by much of the commercialism that cheapens many towns along the coast. The decor of the cottage is quaint and warm, with much of it being original to the time it was built (1920's, I think) As you sit on the porch on a quiet evening you can tell the chop of the water by the sound of the halyards hitting the masts of the many sailboats anchored in the small cove. It's a short walk to the fishing village of South Bristol where you can watch the drawbridge letting the fishing boats in and out, AND you can get great fresh fish in the small market there. The cottage is close to some wonderful tourist spots, such as Camden, a pretty sea town with great restaurants, Monehegan Island, one of Andrew Wyeth's homes, and Pemaquid Point, our favorite place to sit and view the rugged coast. It's not very often one can experience a place near the ocean that has not been negatively effected by man and his need for commercial entertainment, but this area has held onto its originality. My husband and I will one day return, and we highly recommend it to others.,
