PERFECT PLACE AND LOCATION!

5 of 5
The property is wonderful and the setting is perfect. The pictures don't do it justice. If you are planning to visit Acadia National Park I'm convinced there is no better place to stay! Centrally located, you are close to all that the island has to offer. We saw eagles out back constantly (even a bald eagle). We kayaked out a sort distance with Wendyl's supplied kayaks and saw a seal in the cove. We had a fantastic trip and we plan to visit again someday soon! Thanks Wendyl!!!

RELAXING, CONVENIENT GET-AWAY

5 of 5
We had a wonderful, cozy stay. The house is very comfortable and pleasant with full amenities even for a long stay. The place was overall clean and well kept. The owners live on the property, but guests have their privacy (perhaps a little less if the small dwelling in the back is in use) yet get a quick response if a need arises. Their labrador is super friendly. The woodstove worked perfectly on those freezing Maine days and nights. The location is perfect to visit Acadia; it feels remote yet close enough to amenities such as groceries, gas, and live lobsters. There are nice trails to hike (and cross county ski in the winter) within walking distance and quiet roads to walk around. We saw deer from the window and heard coyotes at night. The house is a very good value for its money. Highly recommended.

LOVELY TRIP AT THE CHARMING TREE HOUSE!

4 of 5
The tree house on Mount Desert Island is definitely worth the trip. Situated on a mossy, tree covered hill a few short minutes from a small bay/cove on the island, this house and property were both perfect for a stay with our adventurous dogs. Although we were there quite late in the season for hiking and biking in Acadia, the cool mornings and evenings on the lovely deck and looking out on the water and trees were perfect for us. All the fun attractions at Acadia are a short drive, and Bar Harbor isn't far either. Southwest Harbor (our favorite town) was close also. The only thing we might suggest is coming a week or so earlier, as some attractions like the lobster pounds on the water and some restaurants were closed for the season. But, we had no major problems with the house and would certainly return. The master bed was comfortable and the shower's water pressure was great. The separate "guest" house is perfect for another couple or older children. Overall, we had a great time and hope to be back again!
