Arrive care free with everything you will need !

5 of 5
My family and friends rented this home for 3 nights and now know we will rent longer next time. We arrived at home and we were so pleasantly greeted with a clean house and it even smelled clean. The beds were comfy and having two kitchens and two living rooms was ideal for the 7 of us. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed all there was to offer. The house has two kayaks and a peddle boat with was so fun. There's a shed filled with life jackets ,floats, noodles and even the long sticks for s'mores ! I brought my 20ft bow rider and barely had to secure it against the dock because the water is calm . We really enjoyed taking boat out to the basin which is big enough to shut engine and jump out and swim. We did venture out to the big lake as well. In regards to groceries the Walmart is very close so not hard to run out for last minute things. One of the nights we went out to dinner in Raymond to a really great Mexican restaurant called A La Mexicana. Delicious ! The whole area was beautiful and peaceful. Our favorite thing at night was laughing and talking around the fire pit. The last night of our stay I asked all my family and friends if they would consider this rental again. Everyone answered immediately with a solid YES !!!

Great Family Vacation Property!

5 of 5
Even before we stepped foot on the property, I knew this would be a nice vacation. Jane couldn't have been more patient and accomodating with my many emailed questions. Upon arrival, we found her to be a lovely hostess, pleasant and easy going. She wanted to be sure we felt at home and that we had a wonderful experience. We did! The lake is pristine with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Unlike many properties, there is a nice sandy beach with plenty of chairs. Jane provides beach toys for the children, tubes and various floats for the adults, canoes, a rowboat, etc. Once in the water, there is a sandy bottom out quite a ways and the water is shallow, increasing in depth gradually. It's a great place for young children. We mentioned we might want to play horseshoes. She and Wally (her husband) brought them right out and suggested various spots we could set up. Of course there are "rules" at the camps - when you run a business, you need to have some guidelines so that all guests are comfortable and safe. There were no unreasonable restrictions whatsoever. The rental cabins themselves are not directly on the water but this was in no way an issue. I counted exactly 100 steps from our doorway down the path to the lovely beach. There are 5 rentals - 3 single cabins and "The Chalet" which is basically a duplex with a shared porch and deck. Jane only rents both sides out to parties who are vacationing together. It's perfect for large families or groups. The property is very well maintained. The Chalet was clean and basic with all the comforts of home. There are two bed rooms - a master bedroom with a queen bed and a "bunk" room with two sets of bunk beds. Those beds have (I believe) full size mattresses. So each side of the chalet could easily sleep 6-8 people. There is also a futon in the living room area. Another plus for us is that it is located just 15 minutes or so from a large grocery store, a Walmart, Lowes, etc. This was very convenient for picking up groceries and odds and ends. There are also many restaurants in the area in case you don't feel like cooking some evening (there is a full stove/oven and a charcoal grill with each rental). Jane and Wally are wonderful hosts and you couldn't fnd a more beautiful lake. My boyfriend, the fisherman, was very pleased with the bass fishing. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to find the authentic "Maine" camping experience.

Beautiful vacation house

5 of 5
Had a great time on our first trip to Maine! The house was beautiful, with plenty of space for two families plus 1 set of grandparents. Convenient lake access with 2 canoes and 2 kayaks for guests use. Basement had a ping pong table, which was a big hit with the kids. Convenient to Portland for lots of dining options. Owner was very friendly.
