We just returned from a wonderful week in Maine, and we loved everything about this house. The location was ideal, the views were spectacular, and having access to the water was a real treat. The house was exactly as pictured and described. We found it to be very comfortable, cozy and inviting. The house was nicely decorated and furnished, and very well equipped with everything you would want or need. In particular, we appreciated the well equipped kitchen, as we enjoy cooking and preparing meals when we vacation in this type of a setting. We found a nice assortment of cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishes and glassware and the like. The screened in porch was the place to be during our week, we ate almost every meal out there, except for one rainy evening where we decided inside would be better. We found leaves for the dining room table, a lovely tablecloth and placemats and we enjoyed our dinner inside as much as outside. Highlights of our week included kayaking in Seal Cove, hiking in Acadia, exploring the park and spending some time in the towns of Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor. Breakfast at Grumpy's is a must, and a lobster feast at Thurston's lobster pound was memorable. A good rainy day activity is the Seal Cove Auto Museum, just up the road a bit from the house. We spent a very enjoyable rainy morning there. For as much as there is to do in the area, the house provided a very inviting place to just sit back and relax, read a book, or catch up with the family.
