Awesome Dog-friendly Cottage By Gorgeous Schoodic!

4 of 5
We stayed here for 4 nights over Labor Day weekend 2014 with our Labrador Retriever. The cottage was very nice both inside and out and was totally stocked with everything we could have needed. It did get cold at night but there are heaters in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom loft area so we were never uncomfortable. Also there is WIFI available but it is a slow connection, so it is suitable for light web surfing but not streaming. It is a short walk to the beautiful and more secluded Schoodic section of Acadia, however the drive through this section is only one-way for cars and bikes and the entrance is actually about a 10-15 minute drive from the cottage. Winter Harbor is a nice, quaint little town (we highly recommended the dog-friendly J.M. Gerrish cafe for breakfast!), but the food and activity options are limited here. We ended up spending most of our time in Bar Harbor/Acadia which is about an hour drive from the cottage. Acadia is absolutely gorgeous and well worth the trip on its own! Both Bar Harbor and Acadia Park are very amenable to pets -- if you have a dog be sure to check out the Little Long Pond Off-Leash Area across from Seal Harbor. Overall we definitely recommended this cottage especially if you like cooking and you are looking to get away from it all, otherwise be prepared to drive a decent distance for major stores and attractions.

Extraordinary Place of Quiet Beauty - Take Me Back

5 of 5
Eagleview is by far a hidden gem with lots of charm and character. The view from every floor is jaw dropping and the fire pit in the evenings provided so much peace & tranquility.. Even though there were only 4 of us on this trip, we could have easily brought several more of our friends and still had plenty of room. We cooked in many meals and there were all the needed cooking items in the fully stocked kitchen. We spent several days in Acadia hiking from Sandy Beach to Otter Point plus Jordan Pond and a couple of hikes in the Schoodic Peninsular. You might say we ate our way through Maine enjoying fresh lobster, blueberry pie and blueberry pancakes - Chester Pike has the best homemade blueberry pie and blueberry pancakes and the restaurant is 3 miles from Eagleview. We also enjoyed their Haddock sandwiches. Our side trip to Campobello Island in Canada was not a disappointment. We loved our time here and the owner, Tony, was very gracious and very responsive. The only negative I have is that our week did not last long enough. I'd rent Eagleview again without any hesitation and recommend to all friends and relatives. Come and see for yourself!

Absolutely Wonderful Cottage

5 of 5
This cottage was just as described in the listing and accompanying photos. The owner has thought of everything that could be needed during a stay. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful at all times during the renting process and during the rental week. There is a very informative book provided that has information on things to see and do in the area as well as local eating places. This cottage is so close to the Arcadia National Park at Schoodic as well as many other small villages in the area. No road taken failed to provide spectacular scenery. There are many small, locally owned craft stores and art galleries to visit, do not miss sunset Grindstone Neck, the ferry to Bar Harbor, or the lobster rolls on the dock in Corea, or a day in the park hiking, biking, or just enjoying the view. I would definitely recommend this property and plan on returning next year.
