Relaxing and wonderful week on Schoodic Peninsula

5 of 5
Myself, a friend, and our two dogs had a great week at this terrific house right at Wonsqueak. We have been coming to the Schoodic Peninsula for years and had passed this house whenever we drove or biked the loop. The house is lovely, with a well-outfitted kitchen, lovely books and quilts and artwork to look at, and a large and airy, high-ceilinged bedroom upstairs. I loved being right on the Schoodic bike loop--I rode my bike out every day and did the loop. You could also walk just a couple hundred feet or so and you'd be in the park. Right up the street in the other direction is the bar, post office, and little supermarket--regular visitors will know what I'm talking about. Was sad that the Fisherman's Wharf had closed, but hoping someone will reopen it in the future. Easy to get to Corea for lobster rolls and to visit Chapter Two bookstore and gallery, and to Prospect Harbor for the Hurdy Gurdy Man. I love Schoodic, loved this house, and would definitely stay there again!

Great place to stay!

5 of 5
First trip to Acadia and what a wonderful place to stay! Everything you need is provided, plenty of space, and very helpful host! Would recommend to anyone going to Acadia. We had two families in the house and had a great time. Tony was super helpful in providing tips to make the stay easier/more enjoyable. Highly recommend this well-cared for , spotless, gem in Maine!!

Excellent

5 of 5
We stayed at your lovely home for two weeks in August and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being on the "quiet side" of Acadia National Park was so much more relaxing, as we did not have to fight the crowds or traffic on a daily basis. We did visit both Bar Harbor and the main part of Acadia, but found it so much more peaceful to return to Surchin's End. You have provided everything one could possibly think of, and we particularly appreciated the spices, seasonings, etc., available for our use. Your home is well maintained, clean, and we loved the sleep number mattresses! Have them in our own home, and made our stay even more comfortable. Dianne, you were most helpful to us prior to our trip with suggestions for grocery shopping and things to do. All of the brochures for area attractions in your home were extremely helpful as well. I know you don't control the weather, but we did have perfect weather while we were there, and so enjoyed sitting on the deck with the view of Frenchman's Bay and Cadillac Mountain. Thank you for sharing your home with us - it truly helped to make our vacation memorable!!
