As good as it gets!

5 of 5
Our stay at Western Bay Shores was the best rental we've had ever, as we rent homes yearly for our family vacations. Well laid out, high quality furnishing, beds that were obviously expensive, and super comfy. Linens and towels were high quality too. House well stocked with everything we needed, and super clean. Family of 8 and plenty of room. Great views in every room, great fenced area for our dog too. The shore was fantastic too, we walked a mile every night at low tide. Really, just one of the best experiences in a rental home we've ever had, superb!!

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT RENTAL

5 of 5
We enjoyed two weeks at “The House” this summer and I wanted to give you a review. We just left a few weeks ago actually. We are repeat customers having stayed there 3 years in a row. Another amazing week. We were up in the mornings (about 5am) having coffee to watch the exquisite sunrise over the bay. Coffee in the rocker, bundled up a little in early October, but that's what we like to do. After breakfast, of blueberry pancakes we would usually walk about a mile to the far end of Jellison Cove Road. Its a dead-end so no one was up really ( at 7am )and lots of wildlife to see. During our stay this time we had a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink. I called Judy and before noon the leak was fixed and no damage done. (He said it stemmed from a misstep by another plumber many years ago.) Our day was not ruined. But I was impressed with how quickly he came over. You must treat him well Judy!!!! We always bring our kayaks. Its a kayaker's dream! 50 steps out the back and across the lawn and you launch your boat. Very quiet water too, usually. We just love kayaking here, no muss, nofuss. The beds were great as usual, and plenty of fans which we use, but with the sliders in the master bedroom we seldom use them there. The TV has plenty of channels for evenings, tho I prefer to spend time on the patio. I would say the best quality time at the house is the time spent with coffee and a paper/book or wine on the lawn. It seems to refuel us.....all that solitude and beauty with no pressures. This year was the first time we took a ride with Babe and we really enjoyed it. He was very informative, but with lots of funny stories. The first time we came my husband exclaimed as we prepared to leave “This was the best vacation we ever had!' and we've been returning every year. Toby Leibovitz

Great Vacation

5 of 5
My brother and I have been going to Maine for our annual get-together for a number of years. We both agreed that this Port Clyde cottage was the best choice of all. The location could not be better; just steps from the charming little grocery where we could buy essentials without getting in the car and driving for miles, just steps to the wharf to take he ferry to Monhegan and at least three places to eat out within walking distance. Could not be better, not to mention the view from the deck of the house. The house itself was so attractive and comfortable. We could easily have had a couple more people (we were five) and not be crowded at all. The kitchen is very well supplied and a pleasant place to prepare meals. And the huge living room gave space for those who wanted to sit in a corner and read while others watched a ball game. I also appreciated the several times that Karan called to make sure everything was going well for us. And she made sure that the house was spotless for our arrival. We all agreed that this was a place we would love to visit again. Maine at its best--and that is saying a lot!
