Perfection

5 of 5
Last month, my husband and I traveled from CA to Kennebunkport for our son's wedding. For such a special family occasion, we did not want to stay at a hotel. We wanted a beautiful home, someplace our family could relax and spend quality time together. We hit the jackpot with this house. Being very fussy, I always travel with my own pillow. It has gone with me as far as China. It was not needed in this house. I am as fussy about mattresses (no, I don't travel with one) so was beyond thrilled with the comfort and quality of the beds and linens. Each bedroom has its own bathroom stocked with fluffy, beautifully folded towels. We all loved gathering around the kitchen counter in the morning over coffee or late in the evening after one of the many fun wedding related functions. Many friends and family, in town for the wedding, dropped by and all were dazzled by the house. The great room was the perfect place for our son and all his groomsmen to watch college football while they awaited the golf cart to arrive to whisk them off to St. Ann's. The landscaping is so exquisite that we had our family pictures taken at the house before heading to the church. The owners were wonderful and made sure we had all the contact info we needed in case we had any questions. If you are looking for a place to spend a special family event, look no more. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to stay during such a momentous occasion. Plus, the neighbors are nice too!

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT RENTAL

5 of 5
We enjoyed two weeks at “The House” this summer and I wanted to give you a review. We just left a few weeks ago actually. We are repeat customers having stayed there 3 years in a row. Another amazing week. We were up in the mornings (about 5am) having coffee to watch the exquisite sunrise over the bay. Coffee in the rocker, bundled up a little in early October, but that's what we like to do. After breakfast, of blueberry pancakes we would usually walk about a mile to the far end of Jellison Cove Road. Its a dead-end so no one was up really ( at 7am )and lots of wildlife to see. During our stay this time we had a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink. I called Judy and before noon the leak was fixed and no damage done. (He said it stemmed from a misstep by another plumber many years ago.) Our day was not ruined. But I was impressed with how quickly he came over. You must treat him well Judy!!!! We always bring our kayaks. Its a kayaker's dream! 50 steps out the back and across the lawn and you launch your boat. Very quiet water too, usually. We just love kayaking here, no muss, nofuss. The beds were great as usual, and plenty of fans which we use, but with the sliders in the master bedroom we seldom use them there. The TV has plenty of channels for evenings, tho I prefer to spend time on the patio. I would say the best quality time at the house is the time spent with coffee and a paper/book or wine on the lawn. It seems to refuel us.....all that solitude and beauty with no pressures. This year was the first time we took a ride with Babe and we really enjoyed it. He was very informative, but with lots of funny stories. The first time we came my husband exclaimed as we prepared to leave “This was the best vacation we ever had!' and we've been returning every year. Toby Leibovitz

Relaxing Stay and Good Location

4 of 5
We enjoyed our stay at Loon Cove. The owner's directions were spot on - down to the fallen down chicken barn! Day trips to Blue Hill, Castine, Belfast, Acadia, Schoodic Point, Deer Isle and Stonington all very doable. Weather was great, leaves beautiful fall colors. Owner called to make sure everything was OK. For larger groups, the single master en suite bathroom upstairs for 3 bedrooms, might be problematic. However, for the 3 of us, it worked fine. Really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs down at the pond and the quiet at night.
