Heaven!

5 of 5
We have stayed at this place two times, once with a small group, and again with a bigger group ... Both times were absolutely fabulous. The living space is open and welcoming and as comfortable as home. This furniture is no lumpy camp cast offs! Comfy chairs and couches, and a big welcoming table makes for plenty of room to curl up with good books or a movie, or gather around the table for some raucous gaming! The fully appointed kitchen has everything you need, whether you are cooking big family dinners or just slapping together sandwiches. The bedrooms are nicely done as well...comfy beds, warm and clean linens, plenty of closet space too. There is also a little hangout area downstairs, if the kids need a little private space! 2 bathrooms make it easy when you are with a larger group, both equipped with showers. When we arrived, the chalet was spotless and warm, signs of a well kept home! We were able to hike or snowshoe and cross country ski pretty much right outside the door, hooking up with a loop trail through the nearby woods, which made for some spectacular afternoons. It is beautiful in the fall with the foliage, as you can imagine, and in the winter, it is as unspoiled as you can get. There was also sledding available in the side yard when we were there, which entertained us all from the young kids to the grandparents. And of course, for those skiers and riders, sugarloaf is a 5 minute ride away, and at the end of the day, there is nothing better than escaping the crowds and heading home to this cozy spot, where hopefully someone has stayed behind cooking up a massive pot of spaghetti sauce for the famished skiers! The quaint town of Stratton is a 5 minute drive away, where there is a grocery store, a pizza place, a general store, and a couple of shops. There is Beautiful scenery all around as you drive around the area! I highly recommend this comfy abode! You will not be disappointed!

Perfect Ski Chalet Get-away!

5 of 5
You know you have done well on selecting a vacation home when you find yourself thinking this would be the perfect type of place to own! We arrived to find the home immaculately clean and ready for our arrival...even had a very nice bottle of wine to greet us! The downstairs area/TV was perfect for our kids and their friends to watch their GoPro videos of the day on the slopes. Plenty of room for 2 parents and 6 twenty year olds. While the photos are great they don't do justice to how nice everything is. The laundry room was very convenient and the open kitchen/living space was perfect for the big meals we cooked in the evening. As a bonus there are a couple of nice hiking/snow-shoeing trails right behind the house. It is only about a 20 minute drive to Sunday River or to Bethel which makes the location very convenient. On our off-day from skiing we went to Hobb's Lucky Lanes in South Paris for duck-pin bowling and it was a blast!! Thanks again Nathan for the perfect winter vacation spot!
