                        A truly magnificent Log Cabin!

                        5 of 5
A truly magnificent Log Cabin! Fun for the entire family and more. Everything about this home promotes quality time w/ friends &/or family. Lots of space to hang out. Game room, fantastic movie theater room, hot tub and not to mention the huge fire-pit area w/ 3 picnic tables and logs to lounge on around the fire pit. Surrounding towns w/ restaurants within a 15 min drive or less. I would recommend Rick's restaurant in Naples for a gorgeous lake view while u sip a beverage or have a meal on the upper deck. Rent a Jet Ski or take a boat ride on the Songo River Cruise boat. The "Corn Shop" in Bridgton is a must see gift shop. We are happy we rented this cabin w/ our children who are 6, 4 and almost 3 months old along w/ our parents. We've enjoyed delicious dinners in the gourmet kitchen followed by roasting s'mores. The back room w/ woods view has 2 dining tables that we've put to use constructing puzzles. Did I mention the beautiful rain shower in the master bedroom. The owner has been very kind in making wonderful recommendations in offering advice on what to visit/see and responds extremely fast to any questions I've sent via email. We loved reading about the construction of the log home that is in a binder near the kitchen. We would already love to visit again & we haven't left yet.

                        The perfect getaway

                        5 of 5
I have been vacationing at these cabins since they were built - both with family and friends! I will say that whether you have kids in the single digits, or grandparents in their 90s - this is the perfect place for the whole family! It is far enough away from everything that you feel like you are in the wilderness - but close to a grocery store that you can run out quick for a last minute ingredient! The days on China lake are fun - with lots of Boaters / Jetskis / swimmers , riding down to the icecream shop and waving to the lake neighbors on the way but the nights are our favorite part! Big family dinners by the water and campfires that last through the night! This is and always will be our FAVORITE place to get away : ) When you turn off the main road onto the dirt path leading to the water its a certain excitement every year that just cant be explained! The cabins are also clean and comfortable. And for campers like us .. that aren't quite ready to live in just a tent , its perfect to have running water and a full kitchen! I have and will recommend this property to all my friends and family!

A haven of calm and tranquility

                        5 of 5
Arriving at Tomhegan camp is a joy after leaving London 2 days before. The situation on Moosehead Lake is perfect and it combines the peace of the forest with the reassurance of knowing people are around and there are always Kayaks to be rented. The cabin we stayed in was perfectly comfortable without being over appointed and we could watch the deer and wild life roam in front of the house. The water was surprisingly warm and a joy to swim in. Perfectly clear of course. We went for long walks, good kayak trips and treated ourselves to a trip in a 1954 build Seaplane which I can recommend. Our teenage/young 20's 'children' enjoyed it as well and appreciated the nature. I enjoyed the long private drive (4 miles maybe) which was perfect for a morning run. The camp is very well looked after by Norm and Leona who even treated us to a trip on their boat and made us feel really at home. Boats/kayaks/canoe are available for hire. We look forward to returning one day.
