Wow! We're going back!

5 of 5
What a wonderful property! All the conveniences of home - quite literally. Although guests bring their own food, everything else is already there for you. And, if you forget something or just need to use a little of something like spices, soap, or aspirin, it's also there for you. The pantry is fully stocked with dry and canned goods in case you "need it now" - they just ask that you replace it before you leave. No worries about sheets, towels, even movies to watch if you like! Clearly, guests appreciate this easy-stay and pay it forward by leaving the house even better stocked than when they arrived. The location is in the woods, but not all that isolated. Getting to it takes a little time as the nearest Interstate exits are several miles away both north and south, and winding back-roads must be traveled. But, that lends a lot to the charm of the setting. Quiet and restful. We used the kitchen to prepare two major meals of boiled lobster (of course) which we bought super-fresh in Perkin's Cove. The nearest supermarket is about 30 minutes away in normal traffic, so you may want to plan ahead and pick up fresh food items (like we did our corn, bread, and salad greens) while you're on US Route 1 after shopping. We had every dish, wine glass, and eating utensil - including crackers - that we needed to have some incredible meals without having to go to a restaurant. (We did go to restaurants, of course - and they were fabulous.) Ogunquit is about 15 minutes away down a single road that takes you straight to the main shopping square. We went at off-peak as the season was winding down, but it was still a busy and active place! Fun shopping, dining, and beautiful photo opportunities - especially along the Marginal Way. We even took in a musical the Ogunquit Playhouse, and it was top-notch! Only three things detracted from our stay, and they were minor: 1) The Internet connection was not working because the bill had not been paid. This was reported on the first day but was not corrected during our 4-day stay. 2) The power went out on the morning of the 3rd day and was out for about 4 hours, affecting several towns. The manager was quick to find out details for us, so we knew it would be repaired that afternoon. 3) The spa was a little slimy, but we shocked it ourselves and it was fine in 12 hours. We're already planning to return soon and bring some additional friends with us - there's plenty of room in this cabin.

The Perfect Getaway Lakefront log home

5 of 5
This quaint cabin was exactly as we had hoped and much more!! We were looking for the perfect cabin with beautiful views of the water and surrounding 'colors' and the wrap around windows provided those. Todd, the owner was there to greet us and gave us a "walk thru" before our stay and answered all our questions. He has done an amazing job customizing the cabin & has truly brought the outdoors in for a true Maine experience. He had a collection of Yankee Halloween candles out for our enjoyment as well. We enjoyed hiking, Canoeing, fires, and relaxed at the end of the dock in the adirondack chairs. My favorite spot was the lounger at the front window!! Beautiful views!! We indulged in fresh lobsters every night from Maine Lobster Express.....SOoo delicious. We will be making plans to return soon. Oh, and did I mention the cabin was spotless?! ;)

Great vacation home

5 of 5
This is one of the neatest, cleanest, warmest and overall best rentals that I have been to. The house is new, the heating system is modern, the bathrooms and the kitchen, and the whole house are very clean. The lower level is very dry and comfortable. The location is perfect to experience Acadia at any time of year and have some private quiet time at the same time. Veena is the great contact - she responds almost immediately, helps a lot and never gets tiered of numerous questions. It was pleasure to spend several days in the house with teenage kids and parents. Thank you!
