                      The perfect getaway

                      5 of 5
My fiance and I wanted to find a suitable place for us and our well trained 4 year old lab to stay. We enjoy vacationing with our dog as much as we can. He spent the day in doggie day car at Barker Brook Kennel, while we skied all day. The kennel was very nice and our lab was exhausted from playing all day. The barn was even nicer in person that it shows in the photos. We were very impressed with the decor and ambiance upon arrival. The barn is a new construction and everything inside of it is immaculate. It was very clean inside as well. The tempurpedic mattress was so comfortable to sleep on. The barn has a private entrance and is not directly connected to the owner's home. If privacy is your concern, then you won't have to be worried. We met one of the owners, Stacey, once we had settled in. She was so kind and welcoming to us, she made us feel very comfortable. Our very friendly lab had a great time running around with her dog, Bea. Stacey was so helpful to us and had a lot of local knowledge. She warned us ahead of time, knowing that we were going to be getting in late in the evening, to bring our own provisions, as establishments in Bethel do not serve food past 9pm or sometimes 9:30pm. She offered us a place to hang our skis to dry in her garage along with a boot dryer and snow shoes that we were also allowed to use. We had great skiing conditions, due to the recent three feet of snow that had just fallen. Stacey made sure that the driveway and parking area were clear for us, and that we had power as well. The barn has a generator in case of power failures. The barn is definitely "off the beaten path", which added to the allure of it. We will be staying at the barn again for all of our future trips to Bethel. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for an intimate couples getaway, or even possibly a girls weekend! We had a great visit and we know that our pet was happy, too. Thank you again Stacey :)

A Quiet Place for an Off-Season Getaway

                      5 of 5
We were warmly greeted by Nicole and Rich when we arrived, and they assured us they'd get us anything we needed, and they did. The Sail Loft is spacious (we were two for part of the week, one for the balance) and the pullout sofa pretty comfortable. We found the kitchen had everything we needed, the whole place was spotless, and there was ample closet space. Access to the shoreline (I wouldn't call it a beach) was a bit dicey, as rain left the path soggy, but the beach was not a priority for me anyway. The location was perfect for the ferry to Monhegan Island and trips to Rockland, Rockport and Camden, where there are a variety of restaurants, shops, galleries and museums. Dining in Port Clyde is fairly limited to fried seafood, chowder and lobster; but the seafood is impeccably fresh. We appreciated the WIFI. I would definitely recommend the Sail Loft; it was exactly as advertised.

                      Beautiful, Peaceful, Comfortable and Entertaining~!

                      5 of 5
Our family of 6 completely enjoyed ourselves in your home. We rented kayaks for the week and enjoyed ourselves so much paddling the surrounding waters, watching the seals and exploring Alley island that we didn't make it to Acadia park until the following week. Which, by the way, is stunning! My 6 y/o son asked for his birthday if we could go back to Maine...and this was after we completed our 12 hour drive home. I would be happy to oblige him~! Thank you and we hope to come back again soon.
