Acadia Maine

My husband, 2 children, ages 15 and 13, and myself spent a wonderful week in this gorgeous home. The house is in a very peaceful setting overlooking Frenchman Bay. It could not have been more perfect. The house is even more lovely than the pictures depict. The decorating touches add so much to the overall feel of the home. The house was well stocked and we wanted for nothing. The owner, Rich, was always very helpful and a pleasure to work with. We often saw eagles and harbor porpoises from the shoreline. We did our first sea kayaking trip, which was fun. We spent 3 full days in Acadia on Mt. Desert Island. Did some great hikes, our favorites being the Beehive and Precipice Trails. We swam (briefly) at Sand Beach; the water is only 55 degrees! But after a long hike, it felt great. We had popovers at Jordon Pond House which is a must do! We tried to watch the sunset from Cadillac Mountain, but it was too cloudy that day. We did have a very nice sunset our first night at the house. We also spent time at the part of Acadia at Schoodic peninsula. Did a nice hike there and also watched the waves crash along the rocks. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this little slice of heaven.

Can I go back now?

5 of 5
Todd has done a great job at updating this place. It is extremely comfortable and the property very well kept. This is the type of place that forces you to slow down and just enjoy yourself! Very quiet and big Maine sky at night! We did not want to leave. Naples and Bridgton both a short drive away so you can get groceries, etc. Nice eatting places in Naples. Bridgton drive-in for those who desire to see a new flick in the open air. We found enough to keep us happy with grilling our own stuff most nights and hanging out playing games in the evening. Firepit is pretty cool also. I am probably going back next year with extended family.

Fantastic, relaxing vacation.

My husband, 15-year-old stepson, and lab spent one very relaxing week at the camp at the beginning of July. The property is lovely - at the end of a dirt road with complete privacy on all sides. The camp has everything a family needs for a week, including homemade baked goods by the owner and coffee/milk/snacks for our first day so that we didn't have to go back out to the store. These special touches were especially welcome. While we brought our own kayaks, we also used their canoe and thoroughly enjoyed swimming every day too. The fire pit was fun to use at night and there were plenty of outdoor and indoor games and books to keep us "busy". The camp is also conveniently located to easily visit a couple local towns (about 20 minutes away) to get a sense of the area and to see the coast. I highly recommend the camp and would definitely come back here in the future.
