Last day here after 2 weeks- leaving tomorrow. Everything is just like the website claims. No issues of any kind. Had no need of fireplace or air conditioners as the weather was just perfect. Place can sleep a larger group but was very enjoyable for just the two of us. Location is a great place to jump off any direction for exploring downeast Maine. No hassle of crowds like Bar Harbor and not too far if one wishes to see the attractions of Bar Harbor. (We only spent a few hours there and had lunch at Gaylyns near the port) Blueberry festival in Machias was most entertaining. Not to miss is Campobello, where Franklin Roosevelt spent part of his boyhood and early years of marriage. about 1and 1/2 hours away. Bring passport as it is in New Brunswick Of course Acadia is wonderful. Lots to do there. Be sure to visit Jordans Pond and enjoy the popovers-fantastic! Also the Schoodic part of Acadia is a great place to visit. Best meal we had was at Trenton Bridges Lobster pound although we never really had an unpleasant meal experience. We liked Winter Harbor and visited nearly all the shops. We recommend this place highly.

Great property in great neighborhood!

We rented the cottage for a wedding in the Portland area and found it to be as advertised and more! The house is spacious and bright, and the jacuzzi was a great touch. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet with the fantastic Scratch bakery nearby (the owner left us a gift certificate and the bagels are the best!), and easy access to both Harding's beach and Crescent Beach State Park. Also only about a 15 minute drive to downtown Portland. Highly recommended!

A magical 5 days spent on a serene pond locale!

5 of 5
My family, including a 5 month old baby, spent a glorious vacation in this charming log house with all the amenities one could possibly need. We canoed, kayaked and swam, barbecued on the grill and made S'mores in the fire pit. And when we were tired, we lazed in the hammock overlooking the water. We couldn't ask for anything more and intend to return next summer, although we are tempted to view the autumnal changes from this spot as well.
