Great place, nice big kitchen.

Six of us stayed and had a wonderful time. Plenty of room for all of us and then some. The frontage and fire pit were perfect, had a fire just about every night. Must be beautiful in fall.

A Perfect Family Vacation

5 of 5
Finding the perfect vacation spot for a family of 15 isn't easy, however, the Captain's Quarters at Dockside is the perfect solution. We have been renting the Captain's Quarters along with the adjoining suites for many years. The view is breathtaking, the accommodations are inviting, comfortable and clean. The privacy offered in that particular setting is unparalleled and the lawn and surrounding grounds offer so much for our children & grandchildren. The innkeepers are perfect hosts and are always available to answer questions and provide local information, as well as great stories about living on the coast of Maine. If you choose the breakfast package, the homemade muffins, quiche, fruit etc are delicious and eating on the grand porch of the main house offers phenomenal views of the York River and harbor. Eating in is easy as the kitchen has everything needed for preparing casual family dining including an outdoor grill. Enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the changing tides and awaken to a gorgeous sunrise! A perfect family vacation!

We are from Florida and decided to try something different and spend a week in Maine in November! Our "what are we doing" fears disappeared as soon as we began our 1 hour 15 minute drive from Portland airport to Boothbay Harbor. Maine was a beautiful as I had always imagined and by the time we pulled into the driveway of this house, I was in love! The house is very old but had been updated very tastefully. Very cozy, spacious and warm (important to warm weather Florideans). It sits up on a hill overlooking the ocean and I loved the sun that shined into the front of the house every morning. The first hour of the day in the front living room with my computer, coffee and sun was my favorite hour of the day! The yard was big so there was no issue with neighbors being on top of us. There is a seperate apartment above the garage and the couple that lived there were very nice. It really was a short walk to town so we only got into our car to go exploring around the peninsula. McSegulls was out go to restaurant in town. Loved our time, town & this house - can't even imagine how wonderful it would have been in the summer or fall.
