Relaxing Family Vacation

5 of 5
My family visited the log cabin in August. Our family has visited Maine several times, but this was our first time visiting the area of Lamoine. The weather was perfect! We had a great time riding our bikes and visiting Acadia. We did a wildlife boat tour in Bar Harbor, attended a lumberjack show and had fresh lobster for dinner twice. The log cabin was beautiful and very comfortable. The home was very well maintained. It was perfect for our family. We did have some noise during the day with a new home being built down the street, but the nights were so peaceful. We hope to visit Lamoine again in the future.

Beautiful Cabin on Maine's Coast, Secluded, Quiet

4 of 5
We absolutely LOVED our time at this incredibly beautiful and spacious log cabin on the Schoodic Peninsala of Maine! The cabin is superb - very well done, tastefully decorated! The views are unbelievably breathtaking of the ocean, harbor, and islands! We were in awe! Richard was so helpful when we had questions and was wonderful to work with! While we loved being out and away from everything to truly 'get away', our only regret was that it was SO far away from everything!! I think late October means that most local places are closed down; and the travel distance to Bar Harbor was a bit further than we had anticipated.(50 minutes or so) But if you want to just relax and enjoy the cabin and the views, the amazing fireplace, and quiet, this place is amazing! if we were to come again, we'd come in summer or September, while the ferry still runs across to Bar Harbor! thank you, Richard, for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

Wow! We're going back!

5 of 5
What a wonderful property! All the conveniences of home - quite literally. Although guests bring their own food, everything else is already there for you. And, if you forget something or just need to use a little of something like spices, soap, or aspirin, it's also there for you. The pantry is fully stocked with dry and canned goods in case you "need it now" - they just ask that you replace it before you leave. No worries about sheets, towels, even movies to watch if you like! Clearly, guests appreciate this easy-stay and pay it forward by leaving the house even better stocked than when they arrived. The location is in the woods, but not all that isolated. Getting to it takes a little time as the nearest Interstate exits are several miles away both north and south, and winding back-roads must be traveled. But, that lends a lot to the charm of the setting. Quiet and restful. We used the kitchen to prepare two major meals of boiled lobster (of course) which we bought super-fresh in Perkin's Cove. The nearest supermarket is about 30 minutes away in normal traffic, so you may want to plan ahead and pick up fresh food items (like we did our corn, bread, and salad greens) while you're on US Route 1 after shopping. We had every dish, wine glass, and eating utensil - including crackers - that we needed to have some incredible meals without having to go to a restaurant. (We did go to restaurants, of course - and they were fabulous.) Ogunquit is about 15 minutes away down a single road that takes you straight to the main shopping square. We went at off-peak as the season was winding down, but it was still a busy and active place! Fun shopping, dining, and beautiful photo opportunities - especially along the Marginal Way. We even took in a musical the Ogunquit Playhouse, and it was top-notch! Only three things detracted from our stay, and they were minor: 1) The Internet connection was not working because the bill had not been paid. This was reported on the first day but was not corrected during our 4-day stay. 2) The power went out on the morning of the 3rd day and was out for about 4 hours, affecting several towns. The manager was quick to find out details for us, so we knew it would be repaired that afternoon. 3) The spa was a little slimy, but we shocked it ourselves and it was fine in 12 hours. We're already planning to return soon and bring some additional friends with us - there's plenty of room in this cabin.
