great place for a family gathering

5 of 5
The lone Elm farm was great. Awesome view. The house was clean and worked well. Sheets where very nice and pay it forward attitude made everything so relaxing. no trips to the grocery store for salt or a stew pot everything you needed was right there. we loved the mowed trails out to the lookout and the 7 foot wide stone wall was beautiful. Because their is a barn that is attached you get a history lesson just walking about. The barn has been kept in its working set up and the inside grain silo and hay elevator give you the opportunity to imagine the past; see the dust and heat of the harvest and hear the grain coming down into the bucket. Beautiful example of living in New England 100 years ago, but you still get wifi and a flat screen if you like:)

Lovely & comfortable house, beautiful location

5 of 5
Suzanne's house was perfect for our big family's stay there. The house is charmingly decorated while also being incredibly comfortable and functional, stocked with everything we needed to have a fabulous time. We traveled to Bar Harbor for a big lobster dinner at a great place that Suzanne recommended, we had a big family dinner on the back deck (complete with grill and porch furniture!) We explored Hancock Point, which is quaint and beautiful, the town harbor is full of sailboats and looks out over Mount Desert Island - stunning view! The big old farmhouse was well cared for, and easily accommodated our party of 8. Suzanne went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable, as well as giving us lots of info about the area - activities, places to eat etc. The house is a 10 min walk to a very pretty cove, and is surrounded by fields and forests and only one or two houses. There's a big back yard for kids to play in as well as a huge field with paths all around the property. Being there felt like we were truly escaping it all! Would absolutely recommend to a friend and hope to go back next year with family again!

Wonderful Vacation Memories From Snow Pond

5 of 5
Our vacation stay in this large home was perfect. A beautiful place to create family memories. It is a quiet, private setting with easy access to the interstate, several nearby towns for grocery shopping and dining, visiting nearby lakes, the airport, and a great spa, The Senator, in Augusta. Also nearby is "Meridians," a wonderful gourmet food, cheese, wine and craft beer shop in nearby Fairfield. In addition to a very large selection of these items they also have the best European crusty bread made by a specialty bread baker in Waterville and delivered fresh everyday. This was a great one stop place to stock up on special treats. Meridians also sells delicious dark Belgium chocolates. Waterville has a very good Italian bakery/restaurant " Holy Cannoli." We bought delicious sandwiches and salads there and drove to a nearby lake for a picnic. The Italian bakery items here are over the top tasty. This historic Snow Pond home, located in an upscale neighborhood, is a bright, comfortable, and very clean home surrounded with beautiful flowers and greenery. The kitchen is very important to us and this home has an updated, remodeled large kitchen with all new appliances and everything else we needed to prepare meals while viewing the beautiful lake. The dining room was especially cheerful and we enjoyed another expansive lake view looking out a wall of windows as we dined. We all had a great time sitting on the large deck enjoying the beautiful scenery and the cool breeze. The bedrooms are spacious with large closets and all the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms are brand new and stocked with plush towels. We very much enjoyed our stay and we would visit again.
