Perfect beach vacation cottage -BEST OOB location

5 of 5
We used to summer in Old Orchard Beach when we were kids and we heard a lot of buzz lately of how beautiful the beach is today. We did extensive research about vacationing in Maine and where to stay. We chose this cottage because of its location- close to beach and it's on a dead end street with no hotels or motels. It was important that we had parking for 4 cars. We were 3 families sharing the cottage- 8 people. The cottage was tastefully renovated with a large bedroom on the ground floor and bathroom. Upstairs there were two other bedrooms, a newly renovated bathroom, large comfortable living room with a wrap around couch, and eat-in kitchen. We appreciated the 2nd floor outside balcony where we sat and watched the ocean. This was our relaxing nightly ritual after the beach, to sit outside, have our wine and watch the sunset! It was awesome ! There's also a private side patio with a new gas grill and patio furniture, where we barbecued. We had great weather and the ocean was so calm it was unbelievable. The kids took floats ( there are some beach toys and boogie boards for use with the cottage) and had a ball! The water was refreshing. It was important to us to find a clean, bright, well-maintained property and we can highly recommend this one! It is in a quiet, residential area so you don't have the noise of downtown. We walked to stores, for food, and the rides - all about 10 minutes away. This cottage is really on the most beautiful area of the beach by far! The house was fully equipped and we didn't miss a thing. We were enjoyed vacationing in Old Orchard beach and we now intend to make this a yearly ritual! We can't say enough good things about our vacation. We had a great stay! We would highly recommend this cottage. We booked for next year. This rates as a 5 star experience! Year after Year

5 of 5
In 2015, we are returning to Eden Center Cottage for the four consecutive year. We love coming back to a house that feels like home. Its in town convenience and proximity to Acadia National Park make it an ideal home base for hiking and exploring the island. We have enjoyed the local restaurants and taken advantage of boat tours off the pier. Jerry and Rebecca have been terrific hosts, showing great flexibility in meeting our vacation window requests. The home is impeccably clean and well stocked with supplies. They "use and replenish" policy works very well and reduces waste. Renting a home in Bar Harbor is certainly more relaxing and cost effective than staying at a hotel or B&B. We plan on returning to Eden Center

Cozy city retreat where I felt at home

5 of 5
Although it has been almost one year since we stayed at this adorable bungalow, it is still on my mind because my time there was so memorable in every way. But especially memorable because I felt at home from the moment I arrived. Maggie's house is a welcoming and cozy retreat. It has been tastefully renovated, it is clean, nicely decorated and it has every amenity that a traveler could want. There is a cooks kitchen, a comfortable living room with a gas fireplace, a half bath and laundry room on the first floor, two cozy bedrooms upstairs, another bathroom with a great shower and bathtub, and nice outdoor spaces. The house is located nearby restaurants & shops, a beach to stroll on, a beautiful light house with views of the sea and is a short distance from a great yoga studio — a necessity for us! Downtown Portland is just a short drive with all its wonderful places to eat and shop. Thank you Maggie for building this house. I can't wait to stay there again!
