                Truly Wonderful Experience

                5 of 5
I rented this home for my family (parents and 2 kids), my sister's family (parents and 3 kids), and two others. The home itself is beautiful and very comfortable - a real pleasure to be in. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, far and away the best equipped kitchen I've had in any of the vacation homes I've rented. While the house is in a very quiet and secluded area, if you're of a mind to not just relax you can quickly be kayaking in any of the many lakes nearby, biking, hiking, picking fruit, rock hunting, etc. Back at the house after the sun has gone down, you'll have a brilliant star-lit sky with the Milky Way visible immediately even before your eyes have really adjusted. All the amenities (sauna, hot tub, grill) work well, and the owner has left very clear instructions for using them - not in an overbearing way, but giving you the confidence to actually use them. The furnishings, indoors and out, are all appropriate for this kind of home. I would certainly rent this property again and recommend it highly to others.

                Great for a larger group!

                5 of 5
20 of us stayed here as an end-of-the-year trip for our graduating master's class. We went in late spring and since it was the offseason we were the only ones on the side of the mountain. Lots to do both indoors and outdoors in a beautiful part of Maine. Eric was incredibly responsive and accommodating, and put in a good deal of effort to make sure our stay was a good one.

                Toddy Pond Perfect Retreat

                5 of 5
This beautiful lakeside vacation home was spacious, clean and comfortable. It is nestled in deep pine wood with ferns, moss and ladyslippers everywhere and sits perched above beautiful Toddy Pond. The amenities are endless inside and outside this beautiful home. The gormet kitchen has everything needed to cook for a crowd plus a big grill on the deck. It has an openfloor plan which is ideal for dining and playing games. The beds and furnishings are are extremely comfortable, and the house and gardens are well maintained. We used the kayaks and canoe everyday .The hammock was a prized spot for a book or a nap after a day of swimming or biking, and we ate lobster around the bonfire at night under the stars The ping pong table saw lots of fun action the entire time. The owners have thought of everything to make this a serene and fun home to kick back and enjoy life off the fast track. It has a great sound system that is wired throughout and a blender for the mojitos. The dock and deck were great places to stargaze and watch meteor showers and listen to the loons on the lake. Plenty of board games were provided for nightly competions. There was alot of wildlife to watch. A family of fox came through eveyday and a black bear was sighted up the road. Fishing off the dock was another favorite. The Wallmart in Ellsworth sells licenses.. Ellsworth is a nice town for shopping, antiquing & dining. The grocery stores are pricey, but then it IS a tourist town. We went to Mt. Desert and Bar Harbor which is only a 45 min. drive. I highly recommend devoting at least a day to all that there is to offer there. The national park is spectacular there and has a lot of outdoor adventures just waiting to be discovered. We went to the Bar Harbor clubs a few nights and had a great time there too. This home is spacious and lovely. There were 10 adults and 1 toddler in our group and there was plenty of room for all of us. It has 3 well appointed bathrooms-enough for a crowd. The master bedroom is unbelievable!Jacuzzi tub.Amazing lake view.King bed.You better draw straws unless you're paying the bill! All the towels and linens were provided. They made vacation packing and hauling so much easier. This house has definitely raised the bar for family vacations. Every one of us enjoyed staying here and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Marie and David for sharing your wonderful home. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to be sourronded by wild beauty with the comfort of home.
