The owners thought of everything!

5 of 5
We just returned from a wonderful weekend at Haley Hideaway!!!! Everyone in our party, from adults to kids, enjoyed all this property has to offer. On our first night, we huddled next to the fire pit telling stories and catching glimpses of the very faint Northern Lights over the pond. The next day, we listened to loons while sipping hot coffee on the porch. The kids entertained themselves with the air hockey table and fell asleep (finally!) watching a movie up in the loft. From the moment we walked into the home a sense of serenity and "awayness" overcame us. No detail was overlooked by the owners. From wood for the fire to gas for the grill to laundry detergent for a quick load of wash, everything was covered! Things we really appreciated: a rental manual with instructions for everything; a pass-code entry system; plenty of dishes; the wood stove (it was a chilly weekend!); how clean everything was; multiple full baths; easy access to the pond; close to town; quiet neighbors; and kid-friendly game room. We had a delightful weekend and would definitely recommend to others!

Spent the weekend at the camp with my family and we had a great time. Very clean, everything is brand new. Secluded & private yet just a few minutes from down town. Our kids loved the outdoor fire pit & upstairs game room.

We didn't want to leave . . beautiful, cozy cabin!

5 of 5
My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights at the Meardon cabin on Rangeley Lake. After much searching Home Away, I settled on the cabin because of the looks, positive reviews and reasonable price - I don't believe I could have done better. The owner is friendly and thorough, providing us with a good deal of information about the cabin and the Rangeley area - thanks David! The cabin itself is somewhat secluded (just what we wanted) and sits about dead center on the shore of the north side of the lake. The inside is pleasant & clean, with a covered porch with generous windows, a small couch and sitting area just inside, a small kitchen with just about everything you'd need (though we couldn't find a pizza cutter) & a bedroom with a high, wooden ceiling + one large bed and one smaller bed. The beach outside is clean with a rocky floor - perfect for swimming or just sitting beside in the provided double-chair. There are a couple picnic tables, an additional chair & a nice fire pit (all of which we used). If you do decide to rent the place (and you ought to) be sure to go to The Gingerbread House for breakfast - we went two days in a row & it was excellent. I can't say enough good things about the cabin and the experience - well worth it, we would certainly visit again!
