We didn't want to leave . . beautiful, cozy cabin!

5 of 5
My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights at the Meardon cabin on Rangeley Lake. After much searching Home Away, I settled on the cabin because of the looks, positive reviews and reasonable price - I don't believe I could have done better. The owner is friendly and thorough, providing us with a good deal of information about the cabin and the Rangeley area - thanks David! The cabin itself is somewhat secluded (just what we wanted) and sits about dead center on the shore of the north side of the lake. The inside is pleasant & clean, with a covered porch with generous windows, a small couch and sitting area just inside, a small kitchen with just about everything you'd need (though we couldn't find a pizza cutter) & a bedroom with a high, wooden ceiling + one large bed and one smaller bed. The beach outside is clean with a rocky floor - perfect for swimming or just sitting beside in the provided double-chair. There are a couple picnic tables, an additional chair & a nice fire pit (all of which we used). If you do decide to rent the place (and you ought to) be sure to go to The Gingerbread House for breakfast - we went two days in a row & it was excellent. I can't say enough good things about the cabin and the experience - well worth it, we would certainly visit again!

Best vacation ever!

5 of 5
We had an amazing time at the cabin - we hiked, canoed, saw moose and loons on the lake (bring your binoculars!), and relaxed. The cabin had everything we could need from cooking supplies to games to movies. The information book was great. We will be back for sure and have recommended to our friends!

Great Getaway

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Haley Hideaway in early Oct. 2013. It was large, tasteful, clean and satisfied all our needs. The view of the lake was spectacular, and the porch was large and comfortable. The only thing I would suggest would be a few more cooking pots and a large roaster. We hope to stay there again.!
