Incredible views & steps from the beach!

5 of 5
I really enjoyed my time here! I went for the R&R and that's exactly what I got! The views were incredible, the constant sound of the Atlantic ocean waves lulled me to sleep every nite. Robin & Grace were fantastic hosts, very friendly & easy to talk to if I had any questions. They made me feel welcome instantly. Mid-town Portland is just a few minutes away for those who like to bar crawl or eat at the many restaurants & pubs, or do some touristy cruises. My favorite was the "Lucky Catch" cruise where I actually ate the lobster I just caught on the cruise for dinner!! The Portland Headlight is just down the street. Other awesome lighthouses are within a short driving distance. So much history here... Thank you again, Robin & Grace for your hospitality, & I definitely would recommend this property to anyone!! Beautiful and relaxing!

5 of 5
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Anchor Loft. The studio apartment was clean, bright, and pleasant. The kitchen was well equipped, and books, movies, and jigsaw puzzles were provided. We spent time enjoying the view of the bay from the deck, and we made use of the kayaks and bikes available on the property. We strolled and biked around Little John Island, enjoying the gorgeous views of the bay. We also hiked the short trail loop in the nature preserve at the end of the island. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful, and we really enjoyed playing fetch with their two golden retrievers. Our excursions included trips to Freeport and Portland, which are a short and easy drive away. We discovered good restaurants in Portland, Freeport, and Yarmouth. Highly recommended!

A lovely place to stay

5 of 5
Last summer, my wife and I, and our 6 month old son enjoyed a relaxing week at the loft. We loved the location! It is close to Freeport so shopping is easy. Additionally, there is a great supermarket very close by. It was a great location for visiting Brunswick, the local Popham and Reid State Parks, as well as a day trip to Portland. We also enjoyed walking around lower flying point and going down by the water. The Maquoit bay and Simpson's point boat launches are great local swimming spots. You don't have to drive really far to go for a refreshing swim! Joan was very helpful and not intrusive at all. The loft was very clean and comfortable! It is really an ideal place for a vacationing couple!
