Wonderful, real experience

5 of 5
This great, comfortable house in walking distance of charming village was perfect for our family of four. Dock with ferry to Monheghan Island is right there, along with the Dip Net restaurant and the General Store, which has a great breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to sit in the living room together and play ping pong in the game room. Owners were very good in communication and making us feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend this for a real Maine experience!

Longing to go back

5 of 5
The cottage is absolutely charming, the sunsets are front and center. We were able to bring our dog and had several guests join us over the 2 week period. There is much to do in the area but our guests asked to stay in and just relax. I love the rustic outdoor shower, others chose to use the indoor facilities. We visited Monhegan, shopped in Port Clyde and elsewhere, went to several restaurants, fancy and plain, there is a wonderful beach nearby not to mention the lighthouse, and Rockland is my favorite Maine almost-city. Don't miss the Farnsworth Museum, even if you don't get a rainy day. Getting into the water from the dock in front of the cottage is not as easy as you might want, you must watch the tide and plan accordingly. I love this part of Maine and haven't found a place to stay that is better. I am dreaming of returning soon.
