I can't say enough nice things about our stay on Peaks Island. The house was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Casco Bay. A short walk from Picnic Point and Sandy Beach as well as from the ferry terminal, shops, restaurants and the grocery store. We brought our car over as we were traveling with our 9 month old, and she doesn't travel lightly! Once we were on the island, though, we were able to walk everywhere we needed or wanted to go. We were easily able to pop over to Portland a few times to shop and dine in some of the yummy restaurants (one of which we found from menus that Suzy (the owner) had left for visitors).
The home is in wonderful condition and has clearly been lovingly maintained. There is a great deck upstairs that was the perfect spot for morning coffee or to laze away the afternoon reading a book or just watching the boats sail by in the bay. There were multiple living spaces downstairs, including a TV room, living room, dining room, and an enclosed porch that is all windows and has a dining table and chairs making it the perfect spot for meals with a view of the bay.
Suzy and her husband were great to rent from. They truly wanted to make sure that we were comfortable in our stay. Suzy even wrote to let us know that we would be able to check in early on our arrival day, which was a huge help to us.
In short, we would rent this home again in an instant, and hope to make a trip to Peaks Island an annual trip.
