Scenic R&R

5 of 5
We met my cousin from Rhode Island here. We all three had a comfortable place to sleep, eat, and just relax. The views from the house were very Maine-y. We used the cottage as a base for near-by explorations and 1-day car trips. It was a convenient location to do such. The kitchen was well-equipped and easy to cook in. We enjoyed spending late afternoons on the deck sipping wine and listening to the quiet. We will definitely return here at a future date.

Perfect spot for a quiet week near the beautiful Maine Coast

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed for a week in early September for a relaxing get-away to celebrate my 60th birthday. We found the apartment tidy and well equipped. We enjoyed the views from the deck, taking walks in the area down by the water and found several places to eat locally. Easy drive to hiking and sightseeing. Cell service was spotty, but TV reception was good. Can't miss Monday Night Football! thanks for a great week on the mid Maine coast!

Great place for our two families

4 of 5
Plenty of room and great natural lighting in The Homestead. Our two families [5 adults, 4 kids] had a great time here, and never felt cramped or like we had no space to do anything. The smaller room near the kitchen was great for the kids to play at the table, and the family room upstairs was a huge hit with the kids too. The kitchen is fantastic, from the counter tops and great space, to the stove and sink and every kind of dish and utensil you could need. Loved the kitchen. Dining room easily sat all of us, for the days we cooked out and had a big dinner at the house, and there was never a need for fighting over bathrooms or showers. Hot water lasted right through the fifth shower each morning - no complaints there! The only things that keep me from rating this 5 stars is the matresses, which were really firm [perhaps that just a matter of my own taste], and the little 2-3" 'step' that connected most of the rooms on the first floor. We kept tripping over them, and the kids fell over them a few times, until we finally remembered to step up, or down, as needed to pass into the next room. But really - overall - such a great house, and the other 8 people that stayed there with me completely agree on this assessment. :) Thanks Betsy & Laurie!
