Peaceful quiet cottage a great place to get away

              5 of 5
This was my first time renting a vacation home, I wanted to get away and find a place that was secluded and quiet. This fit the bill. Its located on a wooded lot not far from neighbors, but the trees make it feel like nobody else is around. Beautiful views of the cove. The house is well kept and pleasantly decorated. Certainly one could be happy just relaxing around the house, plenty of decks give you room to just sit outside and watch the boats. A firepit down near the water is a great place to sit around roasting marshmallows and watching the stars. The floating dock came in very handy, as I had booked a fishing charter and they were able to pick us up and drop us off right at our dock, our captain had not yet seen any blues this summer, but the stripers were practically jumping in to the boat. http://bigbites.us/ are actually based just across the cove. Although the house feels like its away from it all, it is very convenient to nearby attractions. Brunswick, Bath, Freeport, Boothbay Harbor, Portland are all short easy drives. We went candlepin bowling at in Brunswick http://bowling-bowl.com/ which was a lot of fun. I had no problems at the house, it was clean and well maintained. Sure you could find issues if you wanted to .... but who wants to spend their vacation looking for problems..... I don't know if I'll be back in Maine again ..... but if I am, this is where I want to stay.

Spectacular Silver Anniversary Getaway in October

              5 of 5
This beautiful cottage on gorgeous Orr's Island was the perfect location for our getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.  It was a week in "paradise"!!   Everything that we experienced from the time we pulled into the drive, until our departure, was WONDERFUL!  The cottage is lovely and full of charm.   It is more than adequate with all of the amenities that Damian provides.  We really felt at home.    With the kitchen's open design, you are still a part of what is going on in the main living area, which is so nice.  We enjoyed the comfortable living room, fireplace, and large flat screen TV - very cozy.     The view is breathtaking from the house, the deck, the yard, and the rocky shoreline.    The shore is an excellent spot to cast for Striper and Rock Bass.  Damian was a pleasure to work with in planning our trip to the cottage.  And we found his tip sheet to be the perfect key to unlocking all of the treasures of the area.  We really enjoyed The Giant Steps, Reid State Park, Popham Beach, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, plus great shopping and site seeing north in Brunswick, Bath, Boothbay, Wiscasset, Newcastle, Rockland and Camden.    Since you are searching for a rental, our recommendation is this: stop looking because you have found paradise in Maine! This house was wonderful. The sun sets over the water every night. It is such a lovely and peaceful location. The house itself is in really good condition. I can't wait to come back.
