Delightful getaway location!

5 of 5
Our family stayed at Starfish Cottage in Ocean Point for a celebration of my dad's 90th birthday. We had a wonderful weekend! The owners, Scott and Corinne, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The cottage's open floor plan was perfect for our birthday lobster boil with 26 people. The amenities were just as described, and my dad especially appreciated the private king bedroom with a beautiful new step-in private shower area. The cottage's many windows provided an amazing view of the rocky coast with bobbing lobster traps in the bay, lobster boats, and an island with a lighthouse just beyond. We visited the Boothbay Botanical Gardens which has a fun hands-on section for kids, rode the steam train and visited the vehicle museum at the Boothbay Railway Village, and flew kites, tossed frisbees and played on the playground at a nearby park. And of course, we spent a lot of time climbing over the rocks and exploring tidal pools. On our last evening, we were fortunate to be able to view a magnificent sunset from our perch atop some boulders at the ocean's edge. Truly a delightful getaway location!

One of my favorite spots

5 of 5
This August I am making my third visit in three years to the dockhouse. The beauty of the location is beyond my ability to describe. I feel totally relaxed and at peace when I'm there. The house is "lived in" charming and comfy and offers everything one might need. I could sit on the porch all day and watch the tides go in and out, the osprey in flight, the lobstermen checking their traps and the commorants drying their wings on the rocks directly opposite. My dog Quincy is welcome here off leash and he and I enjoy making the short trek to the rocky ocean beach several times each day. The hustle and bustle of Boothbay Harbor is about 25 minutes away. Ocean Point drive can be reached by car in under 10 minutes. This vacation spot beckons me back like no other.
