The Pine Lodge was as advertised, and photos do not do it justice. There were 25 of us: 8 families, ages 4 to 76 years. Even if confined to the Lodge for the week, no one would be bored, what with the huge game room, closet of games, heated pool, hot tub, baby grand piano, huge flat screen TV (so busy we watched only 2 World Cup Games). Enough room for anyone to find a quiet nook if needed. Phenomenal view of Saturday Cove, especially over an a.m. cup of coffee on the deck off the kitchen (alternatively, a glass of wine in the same spot early evening).
The Lodge was beautifully maintained and clean as a whistle, with Terra, Don and family readily available if needed.
The kitchen was fabulous... huge commercial refrigerator, Wolf gas stove, lots of counter space, dining room to seat 20 and large round kitchen table "for the kids." I'm rambling, but only because we had such a wonderful experience here!Add enormous fire pit (great for making S'mores!) to sit watching the more fit and younger of us play volleyball until dark.....
Activities enjoyed, in no particular order: families taking turns cooking meals, board games, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, Cellardoor Winery tour and tasting, discovering Belfast (Chocolate Drop doe ice cream and candy; used book store around the corner) and Camden (coffee at Zola, harbor cruise, dinner at Cappy's Chowder House, Russell's of Camden handmade jewelry).. we did it all and loved every minute.
Perhaps the highlight of our stay was the Lobster Bake, also provided by Terra, Don, and family... so much more than we expected (a few fun lawn games at the beginning) and a beautifully choreographed meal. We will never forget it!
We highly recommend The Pine Lodge or family reunions, weddings, any large gathering. You won't be disappointed!
