No one wants to go home.

We're closing in on the end of our week here at Wall Street. It's exactly as described..all the comforts of home. Wifi, DirecTV, generator, lots of space for a family of 4 with busy kids. The beach is literally steps from the front door, sandy, clean and a VERY gradual entry, great for little kids. We walked out a good 20 yards or more and could easily still stand up with our feet on the ground. The house has just about everything you need from dishes, pots & pans, silverware to towels and linens. The pellet stove was a blessing on chilly nights (Northern Maine..there are lots of chilly nights). If you like photography, you'll love Cross Lake. The sunsets are beautiful here. I've taken over 300 pictures this week and love each one more than the next. The wildlife is amazing..I've lived in Maine most of my life and have never seen some of the birds here on Cross Lake, as well as loons, hawks, eagles and my favorite..a family of ducks that line up at the door every morning waiting for handouts. Mama and 8 babies were a blast to watch all week and my kids were tickled to have a duck eating out of their hand. There is a wonderful little general store up on the main road ISt. Peter's) that has most everything you need, and Jules, the gentleman who runs it is so helpful and very kind to everyone. Fort Kent, should you be so inclined or find it necessary..is only a short 16 mile drive away thru gorgeous, rolling farmland and has grocery stores (John's Shurfine has great prices, definitely recommend them) and Rite Aid, McDonald's, lots of great restaurants, Family Dollar, etc. Nice little town. We've loved our time here and can't recommend it highly enough. Anyone that gets to stay here will find it time and money very well spent.

I loved it here!! There was always an adventure!! Mother Nature was at her prime. I only wish we had seen a moose, but we did see loons, red fox, and a bald eagle.
