A perfect Maine vacation

5 of 5
As we drove down Pemiquid Trails to the Laughing Gull cottage we admired the beautiful homes along the ocean and the quiet of the street. And then we came to the cottage, we could tell it was a log cabin built many years ago and situated on a perfect piece of property. The windows had window boxes with beautiful yellow and blue wildflowers. The property was extremely well manicured, and the pine trees in the front on the ocean side couldn’t have been more picturesque. Two white picket chairs sitting there, just waiting for us to come out with a good glass of wine and watch the Sun set. Once we entered the cabins, we immediately left all the stress at the door; we felt like we were home. The cabin was beautiful, well-appointed and so peaceful. Every amenity was thought of and we needed to bring nothing but our clothes, books and food. The cabin was immaculately clean and smelled fresh. The kitchen had every cooking utensil you would need, even Lobster plates and a lobster pot! Plenty of dishes, silverware even a poaching pan for eggs. We found additional treats, such as, the bathroom had a heater, the bed had a mattress warmer and propane heater that could heat the whole house. The small barn out back had more than enough fire wood to satisfy the beautiful ocean stone fireplace, it was huge and burned beautiful fires – what a treat. Plenty of activities to do within a close ride, lot of trials, and sites to see, good restaurants. Additionally two well-maintained bikes were in the barn for our use. The Host was also in residence and came over to introduce himself and ask if we needed anything to give him a call. It is a good feeling to have the owner close by – just in case. We are so pleased with finding the Laughing Gull that we have booked two weeks next year. Kathie and Jonathan

A wonderful Maine Cottage

5 of 5
Our stay at Finch cottage was very enjoyable. My wife kept saying how peaceful and relaxing it was. Ron and Belinda are great hosts. We arrived to a packet of local things to see and do that you would never find in a travel guide. The cottage includes everything you could possibly need but if you forgot something the local store is within walking distance and is surprisingly well stocked. If you want a true "taste of Maine" this is a great place to start.

The Ultimate Maine Coast Vacation Experience

5 of 5
From the time we pulled into the driveway to the amazing view & continuing throughout our stay, we knew we found what we were looking for. We wanted to visit the Maine coast & stay right on the rocky ocean shore. The property & view are amazing & provide the ultimate Maine coast experience. The property is located in the quaint, laid back, fishing village of New Harbor. New Harbor is ideally located mid-coast, so access to the tourist attractions to the north & south is very convenient. The house had everything you could need & was very accurately described on the website, which we had relied upon. Sometimes pictures can be deceiving, but I can say that the house & grounds were impeccably maintained. We did our share of traveling up & down the shore visiting & experiencing the beauties of Maine. However, we really enjoyed just kicking back & relaxing at the house. Withing walking distance is a fully stocked grocery store, a great ice cream shop & a little bakery, all of which we visited on more than one occasion. There are several nice restaurants in & around New Harbor as well. The experience of sitting in the chairs on the front lawn or on the rocks watching the waves and lobster boats going by is relaxing & reflective. John & Marilyn have thought of everything & we found them to be very gracious & accommodating hosts. We will very definitely recommend this property to any of our friends & relatives who plan on visiting Maine. We hated to leave & hope to someday return and relive our Maine experience.
