ANOTHER GREAT STAY AT THE GULL

            5 of 5
This was our second stay at the Laughing Gull and we're already booked for a third next year. This was our 26th year in Maine and the Gull cottage has by far the best accommodations, let alone a view to die for. Thomas and Laurie are wonderful hosts and both years we have stayed, they were right across the street to attend to our needs. The area has everything one needs to experience Maine. Reilly's food store up the street, the Pemaquid Lighthouse down the road, Shaw"s, Cupboard Cafe, Contented Sole, and Anchor Inn close by, Pemaquid Beach at the end of Pemaquid Trail, the pre-revolution fort and 17th century excavations and cemetery less than five minutes away. It is just a perfect location and very private. Took our 6 year old grand-daughter this year and she cannot stop talking about all the wonderful things she experienced...even the Farnsworth in Rockland. She certainly was not bored having spent a full day in Boothbay Harbor at the Botanical Gardens and Aquarium and the rest of the week in a myriad of activities which were very "kid friendly". The Laughing Gull is the quintessential Maine coastal cottage.

SEA CHANGE EXCEEDED OUR HIGH EXPECTATIONS

            5 of 5
Sea Change is a delightful and comfortable property in every way. For those who enjoy the sights and sounds of crashing waves and playful sea birds, and brilliant star gazing , this is the place. It is also an architecturally interesting house with views in every direction. From the dining room table you can watch the birds in the forest or look out to the bay. There is everything one needs in the way of kitchen appliances and utensils as well as a selection of books, lots of local information, and comfortable furniture. The deck, screened in porch , and perfectly positioned hammock add wonderful places to sit and view the scenery or read. The location is perfect for going in a few minutes by car to Reilly’s Grocery Store for anything one could possibly need. The delicious freshly baked muffins each morning at Reilly’s make it a great destination for a walk too. Other nearby walks include a beautiful one around Back Cove. We highly recommend a stay at Sea Change and are looking forward to our next week there this summer.
