Black Pond Perfection!

5 of 5
In, on, and around Black Pond - Maine greeted us every morning and allowed us to play! We were close enough to the coast for day trips but our biggest surprise was Smalls Falls (check it out). For a party of 12 there was plenty of room for all and anything we could possibly need was right there. Thank you Paul for being the perfect host and sharing your piece of heaven.

Wonderful Maine home in a gorgeous lake setting

5 of 5
Renting this wonderful home on Long Pond was our first experience using the Home-away web-site and I think we have been spoiled for life! We rented in mid-April for a Spring visit to our Colby student. Unfortunately, Maine weather in mid-April is not reliably conducive to outdoor activities. Our four day stay covered all three seasons except summer so we are not able to comment on the use of the outdoor facilities other than the deck and grill. The lake (still mostly frozen) and the views were very beautiful even from the inside. The host/homeowner, Dave, was wonderful. He was very responsive to all questions. He was great to work with and we are already signed up to rent again! We found the home to be easy to find via the great directions/landmark tips we received. Coming down the drive and viewing the house for the first time was just like coming home, if you are lucky enough to have a home on a beautiful lake in Maine! Everything is fresh, extremely clean, well appointed, and cheery. The furnishings, bedding, linens are all top quality/new. We loved preparing our meals in the kitchen that had everything you would ever need. The family room/dining area were great to be able to eat, take in the views, hang-out and check email or play games. The upstairs game room was great for late night video games, movies, and ping-pong. The beds were all super comfortable and the bathrooms/showers left nothing to be desired. Everything has been thought of to make your visit an experience you will want to repeat. We highly recommend this wonderful property!!

Beauty and tranquility!

5 of 5
This home sits on a beautiful quiet spot on Long Pond, with western exposure for warm afternoon sun, and spectacular sunsets. It is the last home on the road and the forest on one side is your neighbor! Squirrels and songbirds are everywhere, and the vistas are absolutely gorgeous. The mountains are viewed from the living room and almost every room in the house has a view of the lake. The home is well appointed with all modern conveniences. The garden and porch area are absolutely lovely and you will think you have died and gone to heaven especially when you hear the call of the loon! It is located in the Belgrade Lakes area where there are lots of outdoor activities for everyone in the family. The Belgrade Lakes Golf Club which is a public golf course is one of the very best golf courses in New England… the golf club is literally two minutes away. The village shops and restaurants are within walking distance. You will feel at home… home away from home! It will be a great place for your family to have a quiet vacation. This home and location certainly has a very special place in my heart and I highly recommend The Last Resort...I had a wonderful stay.
