Totally amazing - What a place!

            5 of 5
This cabin was tastefully decorated and was so clean and comfortable, it felt like you were at home. The view of the lake was like nothing we'd seen before and we enjoyed many mornings sat on our dock in the sunshine enjoying the tranquility and amazing view. It was a lovely relaxing holiday, wildlife viewing, kayaking and taking a trip on the steamboat Katahdin around Moosehead Lake. If you are looking for a getaway from it all and complete relaxation, this is it! We loved the place and didn't want to leave and highly recommend it! (One thing to bear in mind is the the road leading to the cabin is a dirt road that you are on for 20 mins so would recommend a 4x4 that can cope with the wear and tear.)

            Modern Meets Wilderness

            4 of 5
Beautiful cabin with all the modern amenities!!! If you are seeking peace and tranquility, this is your haven. From every room there are breathtaking views of the lake and unspoiled property. There is a wonderful fire pit to toast s'mores, watch the fireflies and gaze at the stars. It's relaxing to sit on the wicker rocking chairs as you listen to the woodpeckers. The owner was BEYOND responsive, and very helpful. The owners also provide an array of brochures to help familiarize yourself with their home as well as the surrounding area. This was a perfect setting for people of all ages ranging from their 30s to 70s. And although it was a 'vacation' rental, it very much felt like home. Moose sightings were abundant within a 10min drive. The lake was cool, refreshing and crystal clear. We have been coming to Moosehead for 5 years now. While this was our first time in this incredible home, it certainly won't be the last!! For anyone who hasn't stayed here, this cabin is a must!!!!

            Great cabin rental

            5 of 5
We arrived to find our hosts, and a plate of fudge, waiting to give us the keys to the smaller cabin. The lawns of the two cabins (and the others nearby) to be immaculate. I was pleased that there were ducks and ducklings. Other birds there are loons, gulls, and cormerants. I fed the ducks, no-one else was interested. My little dog, a 5-pounder, came out of his timid shell and investigated the couple of acres of property like a big dog! There are a couple of good restaurants within a mile or so, on the backroads: Maynards and The Birches. We did a moose tour with The Birches, also, and that was successful and a nice boat tour of the back rivers. We also went down to Greenville to the Black Frog restaurant and Tiki bar, and to Woodies, a roadhouse kind of place, as well as the other stores and restaurants down there. It's kind of a tourist/beach-like town to have fun in. The beach at the cabin is small but excellent for kids and adults. The kayaks and canoe and marina are great. Check out the pics on this web site. They're all real. Have a great time! Cathy
