We enjoyed our stay very much in this cottage that had a unique setting so close to the water and the anchored lobster boats in Narragaugus Bay. Though we had more than our share of fog that week, the cottage provided a nice, comfortable shelter. The cottage was well equipped and supplied and in close proximity to lovely Milbridge and its Bayside Shop n' Save. Some of our favorite things include the quiet setting and views of the water and islands; the nice deck; the streaming video and wireless internet; the complete kitchen; the close access to town and to Route 1 for travel to Schoodic Point, Lubec/Campobello, and Mt. Desert; and even the comfortable furniture. The place is kept nice and clean and the off-site owners provided us with a nice welcome basket and much-appreciated complete privacy. Yet made support available whenever requested.
We had the opportunity to enjoy some of the music presented by the 'Arts for All' Schoodic festival in Winter Harbor, the good food and very pleasant servers at Joshy's takeout restaurant, and the delightful town of Milbridge. We visited Lubec and explored Campobello including the hike at low tide to the East Quoddy Lighthouse. We hiked along Otter Cliff and enjoyed the crashing surf of Schoodic Point for many hours. Though we never could find anyone around at Chipman's Wharf to get lobster, we found fresh lobster in our travels. And McClellan Park was inaccessible for our small car due to the deep ravine in the lane leading down to the shore area. But Schoodic Pt. made up for it.
Though there are always some improvements that can be made in most Maine cottages, this cottage was really a cut above most that we stayed in over the last 25 years.
Thanks Jeremy and Suzanne for providing a nice experience and good memories as we return to Pennsylvania.
