Great House!

5 of 5
Stayed here with a party of 9 - plenty of room, very comfortable! Beds / rooms worked out great, nice and clean inside. Spent most of the time hanging out on the covered patio by the firepit - it sprinkled one night...didn't even notice! Well stocked kitchen and living areas. Very private and quiet, but close proximity to town is great. Went hiking and rafting in the area (Northeast Whitewater was right up the street - ask for Patrick!!) Had a great weekend, wish we could have stayed longer. Owners were great to deal with - looking forward to coming back in winter to enjoy the woodstove and snowmobiling.

August 2013

Our family loved this home!It was roomy, clean and everything we needed to extra towels for the week. We enjoyed the kayaks on the lake with sunset fishing, and large Bon fires in the eve to just hang out. My dog was in paradise to walk the long driveway without a leash. The owners were very helpful with anything that we needed and they were very kind. We enjoyed hiking and rafting about 30 minute drive away. There was also close by local store for any needed groceries. It was the perfect restful vacation for the family.

A haven of calm and tranquility

5 of 5
Arriving at Tomhegan camp is a joy after leaving London 2 days before. The situation on Moosehead Lake is perfect and it combines the peace of the forest with the reassurance of knowing people are around and there are always Kayaks to be rented. The cabin we stayed in was perfectly comfortable without being over appointed and we could watch the deer and wild life roam in front of the house. The water was surprisingly warm and a joy to swim in. Perfectly clear of course. We went for long walks, good kayak trips and treated ourselves to a trip in a 1954 build Seaplane which I can recommend. Our teenage/young 20's 'children' enjoyed it as well and appreciated the nature. I enjoyed the long private drive (4 miles maybe) which was perfect for a morning run. The camp is very well looked after by Norm and Leona who even treated us to a trip on their boat and made us feel really at home. Boats/kayaks/canoe are available for hire. We look forward to returning one day.
